from Logistics Matters with DC VELOCITY · host AGiLE Business Media
Our guest on this week's episode is Justin Bailie, co-founder of TMS provider Rose Rocket. Good workers are always hard to find, but this year it has been difficult to find the labor needed to run our supply chains, and truck drivers in particular. What can be done to put more drivers on our nations’ roads? Supply chain executives are focusing on reducing their material supply risks and avoiding unplanned delays and shortages in the year ahead – not surprising, after what we’ve experienced in the past couple of years. New research shows what these materials managers plan to do to lower costs and eliminate material shortages.A new bill has been introduced in the U.S. Congress to assure that truck drivers have access to restroom facilities at their pick-up and drop-off locations. Currently, drivers are often forbidden to use restrooms at their stops, which often means that the drivers are greatly inconvenienced and must find alternative facilities.DC Velocity's sister publication CSCMP's Supply Chain Quarterly offers a podcast series called Supply Chain in the Fast Lane. It is co-produced with the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. The third season of eight episodes has fully launched and focuses on attracting and retaining labor in our supply chains.
