GUEST SERIES // H+K on The 3 in 30 Podcast - 3 tools to support sibs with a new baby

from Upbringing · host Hannah + Kelty

We loved connecting with Rachel of the 3 in 30 podcast about supporting our older siblings when a new baby comes into the family! From Rachel's show notes:For all you mamas of one out there, what do you envision when you imagine adding a second baby to your family? And for all of your mamas of multiple out there, what do you remember about adding a second baby to your family? My guests on the podcast today are Hannah and Kelty, the twin sisters and founders of the parenting movement Upbringing. They said this to me and it resonated so deeply that I just had to write it down. Kelty said: “I thought [adding another baby] would mean more love, more snuggles, more squidgy little feet, more laughter, more connection. And it definitely did add all of that! But I didn't realize all the other more things that would happen. More crying, more anxiety, more stress, more messes, more juggling, and more divide and conquer existence with my partner…” Doesn't that sound about right?Adding a new baby to your family, whether it's your first baby or your fifth, always comes with a lot of emotions and change--all the highs and lows! How NOT to be a Miserable Cow Alison Capra A gypsy's guide to life, love and the pursuit of happiness for a clever girl with a big heart, passion for life, and strong convictions. Too often we release "bad behavior" to personality types or even our upbringing. On my quest for personal growth, I have identified what's making us ugly people, and if we refuse to to identify them within ourselves we will become a Miserable Cows. www.alisoncapra.com Explicit Outliers: The Story of Success Free Education In this stunning book, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers"--the best and the brightest, the most famous and the most successful. He asks the question: what makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: that is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing. Along the way he explains the secrets of software billionaires, what it takes to be a great soccer player, why Asians are good at math, and what made the Beatles the greatest rock band.Brilliant and entertaining, Outliers is a landmark work that will simultaneously delight and illuminate. Explicit I Was Never There Acast Creative Studios In this eight-episode series, take a trip into the countercultural movements swirling through West Virginia in the 1970s and 80s. Jamie Zelermyer and her mother Karen investigate the shocking disappearance of their friend Marsha “Mudd” Ferber and explore her evolution from suburban housewife to back-to-the-land hippie to drug-dealing bar owner. As mother and daughter venture deeper into the mystery of Marsha’s disappearance, the two process their own history: Jamie reflects on her nontraditional upbringing and Karen reckons with the joyful and complicated consequences of her decisions. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. Explicit Laughs and Adversity Curtis P A early 20s, Indianapolis native covers topics ranging from sports to music to pop culture to stories about his upbringing with some comedic relief Explicit
