原著作者｜Jonathan Swift Once upon a time a brave man sailed the sea His name was Gulliver The ship hit a storm he washed up on a strange land This was Brobdingnag the Land of Giants Gulliver was tiny as small as a doll The green grass was very tall The flowers were big bigger than his head A huge farmer found him with hands so wide He picked Gulliver up He carried him home "What a little thing!" the farmer's voice boomed He met the kind daughter Glumdalclitch was her name She seemed like a mountain but her heart was warm She made a small bed in a wooden box to keep him safe One morning a big brown dog barked "Woof! Woof!" Gulliver jumped high the sound was like thunder He saw a cat with huge, hungry eyes He had to be careful every single minute The giant's world was dangerous for a man so small Glumdalclitch taught him words day by day She held him safely in her big palm when she walked She gave him sweet cake crumbs and milk drops "Brave Gulliver," she whispered "You are my best friend" One afternoon they played near the sea Gulliver was in his box watching the vast water Suddenly a giant eagle came swoop! It grabbed the box and flew up high "Help! Help!" Gulliver shouted His voice was too weak Glumdalclitch cried tears in her giant eyes The eagle dropped the box into the blue ocean Gulliver bobbed up and down alone and dizzy Just when hope was gone he saw a ship a ship there!
