Our guest today is John Tamny. John is Vice President at FreedomWorks, and Director of its Center for Economic Freedom. He's also editor of RealClearMarkets, and Senior Economic Adviser to mutual fund firm Applied Finance Group. He frequently writes about the securities markets, along with tax, trade and monetary policy issues that impact those markets for a variety of publications including the Wall Street Journal, Investor's Business Daily, Financial Times, National Review and London’s Daily Telegraph. Tamny is the author of five books. His latest is When Politicians Panicked: The New Coronavirus, Expert Opinion, and a Tragic Lapse of Reason, which was released on March 30, 2021. You were recently here in AZ, and had some local, national and even international speakers. - CL Bryant, Kari Lake, AZ State Senator Kelly Townsend, Nigel Farage 2) These days the division is so thick that it seems like every conversation causes us to place people in little Political boxes. In your book from 2019 They're Both Wrong: A Policy Guide for America's Frustrated Independent Thinkers you talk about how both Democrats and Republicans have turned the Constitution on its head. Can you break that down for us a bit? 3) Looking over your book titles, back in 2016 Who Needs the Fed? You wrote about the central bank's onrushing economic irrelevance. While only 5 years ago, that seems ahead of the curve in the public’s consciousness when thinking about how we could possibly do without the Fed. Tell us about this book. 4) In your most recent book When Politicians Panicked: The New Coronavirus, Expert Opinion, and a Tragic Lapse of Reason you make the case that there were errors and mistakes. But, through the lens of Globalism these “mistakes” look a bit more calculated. Talk to us about that. - Tamny methodically dismantles the political consensus by showing how economic growth has long been the first and last answer to death and disease. He then shows how politicians, having mindlessly crushed a growing economy, proceeded to double down on their mistakes by throwing taxpayer money at their shocking errors. 5) Our next round of elections across the nation are only a few months away. We need to secure our election process, we need to raise up new leaders, we need to elect people who are dedicated to being public servants and Constitutionalists.
