Guntersville Bass Bonanza: Prespawn Madness and Slabs of Joy
from Lake Guntersville, Alabama Fishing Report Today · host Inception Point AI
Hey y'all, Artificial Lure here with your Lake Guntersville fishing report for March 11, 2025. We've had a mild winter and the bass are already starting to move shallow. Water temps are in the mid-50s and climbing. The lake level is holding steady around 594 feet. Sunrise today was at 6:05 AM and sunset will be at 5:52 PM. The big news is the pre-spawn bite is heating up fast. Lots of 3-5 pounders being caught, with a few pushing 7-8 pounds. Best action has been in 5-10 feet of water around grass lines and creek channels. Red lipless crankbaits like the Rat-L-Trap have been absolute money. Chatterbaits in white or chartreuse are also producing. For finesse fishing, try a shaky head with a green pumpkin Zoom Trick Worm. Crappie fishing has been decent too. Minnows under a slip bobber around brush piles in 12-15 feet of water are your best bet. Some nice slabs in the 1-2 pound range being caught. For you catfish folks, cut shad or nightcrawlers on the bottom near the river channel are working well. Several 20+ pounders reported this week. Hot spots to check out: The grass flats near Waterfront Grocery have been on fire. Also try the creek channel swings in North Sauty and South Sauty creeks. The rip rap along the causeway is holding some good fish too. Remember, the big girls are feeding up for the spawn. Now's the time to land that trophy bass. Get out there and tight lines, y'all!
