Gus Van Sant with a restored print of his film debut "Mala Noche" (2006)

Rejected when he initially submitted it in 1984, Director Gus Van Sant returns to Sundance with a restored print of his 16mm debut "Mala Noche." Festival Sponsor Intel made a wireless transmission of the event available to film schools on both coasts of the country. "Mala Noche" was shown as part of the Sundance Collection sectopm pf the program, a sidebar committed to independent film preservation. Filmed in Park City, Utah in January 2006.
