'Gustnado' in Massachusetts, hikers rescued in Vermont, and a cold wave may bring snow to the Midwest and Appalachians

According to the National Weather Service office in Boston, a 'gustnado' struck the southeastern part of the state Monday night. A gustnado is a  short-lived, ground-level swirl of wind that can form along a thunderstorm’s leading edge.
