Gutekunst sticks with his guys; Why the waiver wire is overrated? Did the Packers miss out on adding depth?

Gutekunst decides on the final 53 man roster, and decides to double down on his own guys he drafted over players who played much better in my opinion. The waiver wire at first glance seems like you can find some diamonds in the rough, but really is overrated. The Packers may have missed their last chance to really add some depth to the weaker positions on this team like edge rusher.
