Joining us right now, from Anderson County, the Chairwoman of the Anderson County GOP, we’ve got Joy Stubbs with us. How are you, Joy? Good to see you. (Audio adjustment) Charlie James: Wait a minute, hold on, I’ve got to turn—I’ve got to turn your microphone up here. Okay, there you go. Now you’re better. What’s going on? Joy Stubbs: Okay. Thank you. Thank you for having me. Charlie James: So you guys have got a pretty big event coming up, right? Joy Stubbs: Yes, we’ve got several. I have a whole list. Charlie James: Oh boy, I love to hear that! What’s going on in Anderson County? Joy Stubbs: Well, first of all, past this exciting event tonight, and so glad that, you know, Sheri brings us to Anderson. But, this Friday, as you probably know and heard, we were supposed to have the stump runoff for the Upstate. Right. But, as you’ve heard, President Trump is coming into Myrtle Beach down Friday at 3:00. So that has made us pivot today. But that’s okay, we’re still going to have—Ralph Norman is still going to be here for a town hall on Friday night. Charlie James: Okay. Joy Stubbs: So that—those graphics and information, you know, the updates on that will be going out tomorrow. And past that, we have numerous events of opportunities, ways to get involved in Anderson County, and for candidates to get their message out, meet constituents, get their signs out. But I have two particular really big ones that I’d like to mention if that’s okay. Charlie James: Absolutely. Joy Stubbs: Okay. On Wednesday, September 23rd, we are having an Upstate Back to School event with Superintendent Ellen Weaver back here at the Civic Center. As you know, she’s here tonight. This is going to be a collaboration with many school districts in the Upstate and other conservative groups. We’re going to be here, we’re going to be having a back-to-school supply drive, but that’s going to be an exciting evening. And then back here in October, back here at the Civic Center as well, on October 19th, we are going to have—we haven’t really named it yet—but it’s an all-R ticket, from the top down in the state, kind of a rally, encouragement to get out the vote, motivate people to get out the vote, get excited about November and the midterms, and bringing it over the finish line. Charlie James: We’re talking with Joy Stubbs from Anderson County GOP. What if there are some people out there, Joy—and I know you probably know people like this—they’re kind of on the fringe in politics, they would like to get involved, but they don’t know how to jump in and get their feet wet? How would you advise somebody to do that? Because I mean, all they’ve got to do is come to an event like this, and they get fired up! Joy Stubbs: Right, right! Charlie James: I mean, these people are going to be driving home tonight going, "I’m ready to go vote now!" Joy Stubbs: What can I do? Right. Well, you know, from my own personal perspective, I would say locally, which is where I think it starts, locally, contact the Anderson County Republican Party, get on our mailing list. Like I said, we have a full list of festivals coming up, events coming up, where we’re going to be inviting supporters, candidates themselves to bring their signs, bring their material, come out for you to meet them in person. We’ll be promoting when they’re going to be where. School board candidate forums, trying to get—even though that’s nonpartisan, we still obviously push conservative school board candidates and endorse them. And so we’ll be bringing all of these types of events to you. Like I said, I probably have at least a list of 15. So get on our mailing list, find out how you can volunteer, get involved, meet your candidates, ask them the personal face-to-face questions, and decide what matters to you. Ch ...
