Transcript Charlie James: And welcome to the program on your Wednesday afternoon, the second day of September, and it is my best friend Pat Hatches' birthday today. Happy birthday, Patrick. Okay, so we've got—the jury came back again today in the Lindsay Clancy trial, and they told the judge, "Hey, we can't come to a decision on this thing. We cannot come to a decision." So what the judge has done is he is put forth what is called a Tuey-Rodriguez law, and what this law says is, "Okay, you go back into the jury room, and you really think about why you are voting the way you're voting. Is your reasonable doubt—or shadow of a doubt, I don't know which one they're going for in this case—but is your reasonable doubt actually justified in this case? And is your thinking logical, or is there something else involved?" Now, this is the last time they're going to be able to do this. This is like the last thing that a judge can do is send them back under the Tuey-Rodriguez, and that's what he's done today. Five days deliberation. We'll see what happens. We could get a verdict sometime, what, in the next hour, maybe? I don't know. But this is him saying, "Listen, if all of these people—if these—and we don't even know which way they're leaning. There are nine women, three men on this jury." So let's say you've got—certainly nine women, all nine women aren't for acquittal, but let's just say you got three or four. What the judge is going to be saying is, "Listen, are you guys thinking the way that you should be thinking? And shouldn't you be taking into consideration what these other jurors are saying? You need to be listening to those people." And it doesn't matter which way you go, innocent or guilty, whatever it is. Shouldn't you be listening to the reasoning of the other jurors? We'll see what happens with this. But the scary thing about this whole trial is what we have seen from a lot of women in this country about how they feel about their children. It is scary. If you go to TikTok or other—TikTok's really the main one where these women are doing this—but they come along, and it's this thing called, I think it's called toxic mom syndrome or toxic mom rage or something like that. Just kind of look that up. There are women out there going, "Man, I know exactly what she's going through." And that's scary. That should scare everybody out there. And I'll tell you why. We may—or let me put it this way—we might have already seen copycats in this case. May have already seen it. A two-year-old was found dead in Frankfort, Illinois, in a $1 million mansion. Police were called to respond to an unresponsive child. The toddler was rushed to the hospital, but tragically pronounced dead a short time later. Don't know how the child died, but officers say they found the mother attempting self-harm inside the home. She was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. The identities of the mother and the child have not been released. Neighbors in the affluent Chicago suburbs say they're stunned by the tragedy, as resident Caroline Pappas said the case bears eerie similarities to the case of Lindsay Clancy. "This is just absolutely devastating that this could be another Lindsay Clancy situation in our neighborhood, in our community. You never think it's going to hit so close to home," Pappas said. "This absolutely makes us think of that, and again, just more people I think are struggling than we realize." But here's the thing, though. Here's what I'm worried about. There are people out there that are going to go, "I'm struggling." And first of all, you live in a million-dollar home. You live in a million-dollar home. I mean, that's pretty significant, right? And y'all please let me know if your audio is cracking up, because mine's cracking up like crazy here. But you live in a million-dollar home, you're quite affluent... I really don't get this. I really don't get it. And then you attack your child? Like this woman, Lindsay Clancy, ...
