Full Transcript (Hour 1) Segment 1 Charlie James: ...Carolinas. And a very good afternoon. Welcome to the program. Hope you're having a great Wednesday. Nice and chilly this morning when you got out, you know, starting to head to work. You're like, "Oh, maybe I need a—no, no, I don't need a light sweater or something like that." But it was—oh boy, it warmed up about 9:00, 10:00 this uh this morning. Uh turned quite a little toasty out there. Well, we got something big going on tonight: the big midterm convention going on in Dallas, Texas. Um this is the very first ever midterm convention that the Republicans have ever had. So, a little bit of history being made tonight. President Trump uh going to be speaking tonight and uh tomorrow night. Um they're calling it "Trump-a-palooza." And from what we're hearing, he is going to be on the road basically every day until the midterm elections. And you know what? He needs to. He needs to be on the road, because I don't think the Republicans, ah, well, let's just say they're a little bit behind the eight ball right now with all of these radical Democrats out there. Now, here's—here's the deal. Here's what the Republicans are going to have to do over the next two nights: They're going to have to try to convince the American people that the Republican Party is the party that can do a better job on the economy. Now, that's going to be a tough road to hoe, because when you look at gas prices—I I was coming in today and the gas station that I gauge everything by, right, it's kind of by the highway: 3.99 a gallon. 3.99 a gallon. Folks, that hurts. That does not instill confidence in anybody out there. So, they've got to do something about that. Now, listen. Listen, there are other sectors of the economy that are doing fantastic. We're we're going to we're going to get this—you know, I'll explain this to you coming up in in a couple of segments, but this isn't the—this isn't what the average—I mean, you talk about, "All right, jobs numbers had a great jobs number. Oh right, that was awesome." How does that affect me? How does that affect the people around my kitchen table? What am I going to—you know, and Scott Bessent, God bless him, I I think he's fantastic, but he's out there citing all of these numbers that really the average American, we don't understand, we don't comprehend, and we don't even know what they are. What we do know is: how much we're paying for eggs, how much we're paying for beef, and how much we're paying at the pump. So, that's—that's—it's going to be a bit of a hard sell for the Republicans to get up there and tell these people, even though it's true, even though we know it's true. I mean, Joe Biden inherited from Donald Trump 1.9% inflation. 1.9%! He took it up to record high, over 9%. It's down 2.7%, hovering around the high 2s, low 3s. That's good news, but again, what the people are seeing at the gas pump and what they're seeing at the grocery store when they're looking at that receipt, that's the way they're going to vote. That's what they want to do. So, the—these—these Republicans, I mean, they're going to have to convince people out there that they're the ones. You got to trust us on on on the economy. I think that's going to be hard to do. I really do. And also, what they need to hit on is this whole radical left of of of the Democrat Party. And I know they're all radically to the left, but there are some over there that are more than others. And what I wish they would stop doing, especially over on Fox News: stop calling people like Zohran Mamdani, and and El-Sayed, and all these people, and and Hasan Piker—stop calling ...
