Charlie James: All right, welcome back to the program. Well, Senator Mike Lee is now calling for the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act, um, in honor of Lindsey Graham. And I think that would be a wonderful thing. In fact, I think they ought to rename it the Senator Lindsey Graham SAVE America Act. This is what Senator Lee said, um, he, he's calling Senator Lindsey Graham, uh, to honor Senator Lindsey Graham by passing the SAVE America Act. He said, "This is something Lindsey Graham spent a lot of time with." He said on Maria Bartiromo, um, "One of the best ways we could honor Lindsey Graham's legacy would be to take this up and pass it this month." And I think, I can think of no better tribute to Lindsey Graham than to pass the SAVE America Act because this is one of the, the most key pieces of legislation that's ever come across the President's desk. Now, the President was on this weekend over on Meet the Press with Kristen Welker, and I want you to listen to him describe his conversation with Lindsey Graham. Wait a minute. Donald Trump (Audio Clip): —called last night sometime at, you know, the early evening. Maybe in the sevens. And he called, and he said, "We're all set for the SAVE America Act." He was pushing the SAVE America Act like crazy. He got back, said he just landed from Ukraine. I said, "That's a long trip to make." He said—he sounded a little tired, but perfect. But he—a little bit tired. He had a right to be. And he was a worker. He was really a worker. But, um, but he sounded great, actually, but he was, he was, uh—he actually said he was tired. But he, he wanted to pass the SAVE America Act. And I said, "Well, we're going to get it done, Lindsey. We're going to get it done. I'll see you like soon." We thought maybe we might even meet today. Um. And then, that was it. And that was, you know, very—around the time. It couldn't have been much longer. I—it could have been his last call. I don't know exactly, but I got a message about 1:00 in the morning from one of the people in his office that he had passed away. I said, "You got—I just can't believe it." He was like a member of the family to me. It's very tough, actually. It's amazing. Kristen Welker (Audio Clip): Mr. President— Donald Trump (Audio Clip): He was, he was—he was such an advocate. He was, you know, if he—if he wanted to get something—and, you know, he had a unique ability. He was able to deal with Democrats and Republicans. If I had a problem, a real problem, I wouldn't often ask, but if I had a problem with a Democrat, he could work it out. He was a, a great—he was a great politician, actually. Charlie James: President Trump—I, I, I heard something during the World Cup this weekend that really resonated with me. And this is, this is the way that I feel about a lot of people in the, in the Republican Party, okay? The comment was—and they were talking about Lion—Lionel Messi. And the comment was, "We want our team to win, but it is more important for us to see that they care." "We want our team to win, but it's more important for us to see that they care." You can get out there and you can, you can do whatever you want to do, whatever, you know, position you're in in life, whether you're a ballplayer, whether you're a construction worker, whether whatever. You can be this—you can be as competent as you can possibly be. But the people around you want to know, more importantly, that you care about what you're doing. That's what we want to see, and especially as voters. And, and I'll—I'll never forget it. I—this is the same thing I—in different words, but the same thing I told Mark Sanford. We want to see the fight. We understand that you're going to lose every now and then, but we want to see the fight. And unfortunately, that's just something that, that—with big exception to the Brett Kavanaugh hearing, where Lindsey Graham was that Lindsey Graham, he was that fighter that we wanted—he was that guy.
