Charlie James: All right, welcome back to the program. Let's go to George in Greenville. Talk to him about Lindsey Graham. George, welcome. Caller (George): Hey, thanks Charlie. Hey, um, about three points here, and I'll be brief as much as I can. Um, you know, I, I called Lindsey Graham's office multiple times on veterans' issues, and, and, his, his people just never called me back. So that was unfortunate on that piece of it. Um, but the other thing that I have is that, um, you know, it's, it's unfortunate too, because with a primary, you know, this, uh, special primary coming up on August 11th is that there's a lot of us, um, who have kids who are going to be going off to college, um, who, who voted in that Republican primary originally, right? And so, so, so they're going to be left, left out, um, on not being able to vote, um, you know, in, in this spe—special session, you know, uh, election. But then the other thing is, is what's, what's, what's the other irony about, uh, August 11th? Charlie laughs It was, uh, supposed to be the redistricting votes that, uh, the, uh, folks in Columbia said that they couldn't have because it was, uh, it was going to be, uh, cost too much money. And, and lo and behold, the irony in this, the fact that August 11th we're going to have a, uh, a federal election. Charlie James: Yeah, that is true. That is, uh, pretty ironic. George, I appreciate it. But you're right. I mean, so we're going to—and when we get all of this nailed down, we're certainly going to bring it to you. So the primary, all right, the filing is for the candidates in the primary is going to be on the 21st through the 28th. Then we're going to have the primary on August 11th. Now there's going to be a three-day, apparently, it's going to be Wednesday, Thursday, Friday—yeah, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Let me get you the date on that real quick. Now this is subject to change, but according to Drew McKissick, this is going to be the—hoo, it would have to be—the 5th, 6th, and 7th of August. That's going to be the early voting. Three-day early voting: 5th, 6th, and 7th. Then we've got the primary coming up on August the 11th, and of course, that's the second Tuesday. sighs And then, depending on how many people run in this race, there is a good chance that we could have a runoff election two weeks later. Good grief. Meanwhile, you've—that got the Democrats out there really, really thinking that they've got a chance to flip this state. In fact, Dr. Annie Andrews released this video today. Senator Graham dedicated decades of his life to this great state and to our country. Moments like this remind us that life is fleeting, fragile, and so much bigger than politics. I'm thinking about the people who loved him, his family, his friends, his staff, and all of his supporters who are grieving this loss. Now, it's no secret that Senator Graham and I didn't agree on much, but we did agree that when you love your country, you raise your hand to serve, and we both believed in the greatness of South Carolina. Senator Graham was a fighter. No one can dispute that. But here's what I want you to know about me. I'm a fighter, too. My fight is for you and your family. It's for my three kids. My fight is South Carolina's fight. And even though we may not always agree, I will always show up and fight for you. How? So as we move forward, no matter your party, let's remember that there is far more that unites us than divides us. Charlie James: That's BS.
