Charlie James: All right, early voting has closed for the day, but they'll be back open tomorrow at 8:30—8:30 to 5:00 tomorrow, 8:30 to 5:00 on Friday. Let's go to Lynn. Lynn, welcome. How are you? Lynn: I'm fine, thank you. Charlie James: What's on your mind? Lynn: This is just a point of information that I found out today when I went for early voting in my county. Charlie James: Okay. Lynn: I was—I went and did my early voting, because we have some time that we will not be here, so if there is a runoff, I was—I was going to ask about an absentee for any possible runoff. Charlie James: Right. Lynn: You had to request that by July 21st. You cannot get an absentee ballot for any runoff on the 25th that would have early voting the week before that. Charlie James: Aha. That's interesting. That is very interesting. I mean, how do you know there's going to be a runoff to know to request an absentee ballot? Lynn: Well, that was my question, and I also pointed out that this was two weeks prior to the 25th, but it had to be two weeks prior to any of the voting for this particular election. Charlie James: Huh, that is very interesting, Lynn. So, I mean, if it goes to a runoff, are you going to be able to vote? Lynn: It's going to be tricky. [laughs] Yeah. Yeah, so I'm a little disappointed in that, and, you know, had some things that was not going to be in town, you know, for the early—early voting, and was concerned about making the other date because had some things going on that date for the 25th. And, you know, that's not something that I typically check on. I'd rather do the early voting and work around anything that is going to cause me to be out of town on particular days that I won't be able to make it. And I think it's just on general information, and I was really surprised that I was told that it was cut off even for any runoff because of the two-week prior, you know. And it was such a quick turnaround on what we had to do that it probably—you know, he passed on the 11th, and the deadline was the 21st before we knew who all was even running. Charlie James: Yeah, it's—it's complicated. I wish they would be more transparent. Well, Lynn, I hope it works out for you. I appreciate it. Let's go to Van in Powdersville. Van, welcome. Van: Charlie, how you doing today? Charlie James: I'm doing great. What's up, man? Van: I got two quick things for you. One, I can't help but think that the GOP leadership, either the state or national, are trying to run a scam on us with Darlene Graham. She was supposed to be a placeholder, and then all of a sudden now she's on the ballot—she's running. I just can't help but think that they're trying to scam us. Charlie James: That's interesting. I'll go along with scam. If they're doing it, then yeah, it would be a scam. Van: "Scam" may be a hard word—"scam" may not be the right word. "Pull the wool over our eyes" or something like that. You know, "scam" is the first word that came to my mind. Charlie James: But that's something I would love to be able to ask Darlene Graham: Was there a deal that you would only be a placeholder? Because that's all we heard. Van: Well, she's not going to talk to you. She won't talk to you or anybody else. She's not giving any interviews. Charlie James: She's not even giving interviews... Van: We don't know nothing about this woman! Charlie James: Wait a minute, hold on. She did an interview, I think yesterday, with... Van: Sean Hannity? Charlie James: No, no, no. She did one with Public Radio. NPR. Van: Oh, I didn't hear that one. Charlie James: Yeah, nobody heard it. [laughs] Van, I appreciate it, buddy. Thank you. Let's go to Doug in Simpsonville.
