You've heard it before and you don't care, but still people—" Okay, you want to talk about silliness? 914. Let's say that you are going to get into a fight. You're going to get into a fight. It's a fistfight. Marquess of Queensberry rules are going to be used. But your opponent says he's bringing a knife. Do you get a knife? Or do you continue to toe the line and use the Marquess of Queensberry rules? Well, if you don't, chances are you're going to be laying on the ground with a knife stuck in your chest because you stood up to your principles! You stood up to your principles. The Democrats are already telling us that the day they get back into power, they're going to do away with the filibuster. That's gone! There's not going to be any ifs, ands, or buts. You are not going to hear from them like you hear from John Thune, "Oh, we just don't have the votes." Here's what they're going to tell their members of the Senate: "You either vote for this, or you're not going to get on any decent committee. You're not going to have any committees. Your face is not going to be on television. Nobody's going to know your name. And we're going to primary you in the next election." John's like, "You've been saying that." Absolutely! Absolutely, I've been saying this. But people still don't understand. They want to hold on to their old—their false sense of morality. They're going to do it! So, here's what you can do: You can either do away with the filibuster at a time where it will favor Republicans, or you can sit back on your flabby fanny and wait until the Democrats do it when it will only benefit the Democrats. That's it. "Charlie, the filibuster was given to us for such a time as this." Excuse me? What time is it? You're going to have to explain that to me. Do you know how many bills have left the Senate to get to the President's desk? Under 40. Under 40 bills! That's it! There is a logjam in the Senate. There are hundreds of bills that are waiting that could get this country really raging forward again. But because John Thune and all of this, "You know, we all know we got to cling to our traditions," you're killing us! Do not think the Democrats will not—they will do it on the first day! Let me tell you what the first day of a Democrat-controlled Senate or House or both is going to look like. Day One: Impower/impeach the President in the morning. Go have lunch. Come back. Do away with the filibuster. Go home for the evening. Wake up the next day. Make Washington, D.C. a state. Go have lunch. Come back from lunch. Pack the Supreme Court. That's what—I mean, that's literally what the first couple of days is going to look like! And what are the Republicans going to do? They're going to complain. Oh, they're going to complain! Oh, they're going to go on—oh, my good—oh, they're going to go on Fox News, and they're going to be all red-faced. And John Thune, "Well, I can't believe they did this," and all these people, "I just can't believe they..." Because they don't want to govern! That's what absolutely makes me sick. "Charlie, it's simple. If we don't do away with the filibuster now, the Democrats won't be able to get elected—now the Democrats won't be able to get elected for 50 years. We don't do away with it now, the Republicans won't be elected for—" Yeah! You can forget it. You can forget anything happening for decades as far as this country is concerned. Because right there, you got the Democrats. You know who's close behind them? The Democratic Socialists of America. They're right there behind them.
