from The Tara Show

During the third hour of The Tara Show on Monday, June 29, 2026, host Tara Servatius delivered a hard-hitting lineup focused on legislative gridlock, foreign policy, and shifting political ideologies. Tara kicked off the hour by tackling the fierce Capitol Hill battle over the SAVE Act, sharply criticizing Senate GOP leadership for their defeatist stance and failure to aggressively push the voter integrity bill against Democratic opposition. Shifting to international relations, she questioned President Donald Trump's strategic decision to leave Iran's military assets intact along the crucial Strait of Hormuz, arguing that halting operations prematurely leaves a dangerous global shipping choke point under rogue control. Tara then pivoted to a critique of domestic politics, asserting that the mainstream Democratic party is openly embracing democratic socialism. Finally, she rounded out the hour by opening up the lines to listeners, answering a flood of texts that debated GOP messaging, the administration's handling of Iran, and the shifting identity of the modern Democratic party.

00:01 In a bid to get around the evil, and they are evil, Republican leadership in the Senate, the House is passing, House Republican leadership is passing the SAVE Act again, for the fourth time. All right. Fourth time. Think they'll get the message? Four times. No, John Thune is committed to doing everything possible to preserve Democrat voter fraud. 00:33 with Scott Pressler, God bless that guy, shoestring budget, driving around in his old truck in Pennsylvania with the side he's gonna flip it red. Sounded a little crazy in the beginning, but then people started giving him donations, and before he knew it, he had a staff, and they did it. They flipped Pennsylvania red by registrations, one of the things that really helped Donald Trump to win that state. This guy should be running the RNC. 01:00 He tries to go to the Republican state convention in South Dakota because after all of his hard work trying to get Republicans elected. 01:11 He wants a simple phone call back from John Thune. Hey, know, can you pass the SAVE Act? Thune won't return his phone call, won't answer his questions. So he starts camping out outside Thune's office and putting posts up like, I flip Pennsylvania red for no reason? Yeah, apparently. And so John Thune is sat there. 90 % of Republicans want the SAVE Act. And it says you have to um have ID when you register and have ID to vote. Not a weird thing to folks in South Carolina. 01:40 I'm just so used to showing my ID, Lee. I don't think twice about it. It would be weird if I didn't have to. And they verify, they look at your license, okay, you still live at, yes, I do. I mean, that's the norm for us. Everything goes fine. My daughter just voted for the first time. She didn't have a problem. um nobody thinks it's weird, except in Democrat states, 80 % of the public, over 80 % wants the SAVE Act. And John Thune, 02:10 has blocked it. He wouldn't let it out of committee for 300 days, know, swore he'd never have a vote on it. The internet beat him down so badly that he was forced to. Well, poor Scott Pressler goes to South Dakota. He's definitely Republican. I mean, he's a guy who flipped Pennsylvania red, just sheer force of will and a lot of work that the Republican party wasn't willing to do. He did it. And he goes to South Dakota and he shows up at the state convention. That's where John Thune's from. 02:39 And they actually have people follow him around like he's a common criminal. Keep him away from Thune. He tried to get into the convention, even though he bought a ticket, they wouldn't let him in. He got tossed out by security. This is a guy who did a better job of registering people in a swing state than the RNC did. And that's their only job, register people, turn out votes. And he's persona non grata. Cased by security. 03:09 and thrown out in South Dakota, I guess to keep him away from John Thune, who loves to travel the state and tell people what a great job he's doing and how he's supporting Trump all while blocking his nominees and the SAVE Act. So this is really interesting to watch this fight, which we really need in our party. We need it so badly that the Republicans of the House are like, okay, we'll pass it a fourth time. This time they're attaching it to 03:37 a reconciliation bill, So it only needs, you know, 50 plus one votes. So John Thune can't pretend he doesn't have time and go on vacation again. Which is, you know, he was absolutely begged, hey, stay here, do a filibuster, let's get this passed. Nope, nope, gotta do vacation instead, gotta protect Democrat voter fraud. So here's Mike Johnson. ah He is the leader in the House. 04:04 saying, yeah, for the fourth time, we're gonna do this to try to get around Republican leadership in the Senate. When the president and I laughed about it in the Oval last week, I told him, you know, Mr. President, I don't have any tattoos, but if I did, it'd say, save America on my shoulder, okay? We passed it three ...
