Transcript Charlie James: All right, now let's go to Richard in Dallas. Richard, how you doing? Thanks for holding, man. Richard: Yeah, man, no problem. Hey Charlie, listen. We've had some really good weather here the last few days. Charlie James: Yeah. Richard: Richard from Dallas is calling for an early fall. I know fall arrives at the same time every year, but I'm hoping our 90-plus degree days are over this year. I know a lot of people are saying, "Well, you're stupid, Richard, this is August." But, still yet, I'm calling for it. Charlie James: So, well—well, hold on now, hold on. Because next week it's going to be all in the 90s. You're saying after next week, that we're going to be done? Richard: Okay, well, I'll be calling for it at the end of next week. Charlie James: Okay. (laughs) All right, yeah. What else, man? Richard: Listen, you were talking about uh making moonshine. Charlie James: Yeah. Richard: Well, I'm here in North Carolina, Charlie, and it is legal to make moonshine in North Carolina. As a matter of fact, according to Alexa— Charlie James: No, it's not. Richard: Yeah, according to— Charlie James: No, it's not. No, it's not. It's not. Richard: Well, I'm just going—wait! Where are you getting—where are you getting your information from? I got mine from Alexa. Charlie James: The federal government and the ATF. Richard: Well, I'm not— Charlie James: (laughs) You asked Alexa! Okay, go ahead. Go ahead, what did—what did Alexa say? Richard: Alexa said that it was legal to have a still as long as you have to have a uh ad-hole distillery permit. Charlie James: Yeah, you got to have a permit from the federal government, right. You just can't go make it. Richard: But, it's legal to do it if you have the permit. Charlie James: If you have the permit. Did they tell you how much the permit was? Richard: No, that's one thing I was going to tell you—yeah, that permit likely be five or six thousand dollars. But, there's a lot of stipulations that come along with it. She said you can brew up to 100 gallons a year, and you could not sell it, but you could give it away. And there's a lot of paperwork that goes along with it. I—it's just like you said, to keep track of what's going on. If you are making it, they want to know about it. Charlie James: There you go. Richard: But it's legal, I mean, as long as you got the permit. Charlie James: All right. Richard: South Carolina's laws are really a lot different because I asked her about that, too. Charlie James: Now, yeah. Well, there's a difference between what you can and cannot distill. I appreciate it, Richard, thank you. Let's go to Tim in Woodruff. How are you, Tim? Tim: I'm doing fantastic, Charlie. Big fan of the show. Charlie James: Thank you. Tim: Uh, I am kind of disappointed in your coverage on Tom Tillis's book, because you didn't answer the most important questions about that thing. Charlie James: Uh-oh. What is that? Tim: Number one: Is it hypoallergenic, and is it flushable? (laughs) Because it could be a great value! Charlie James: You're right. Is it 2-ply? Is it 2-ply? Yeah. Tim: Yeah, how's it do? Charlie James: I appreciate it, Tim. You're exact—that's all that thing's going to be good for. All right, we got another poll out there I want to—and this is going to be probably one of the last times we talk about this. Um, but there's a new poll out there done by the SC GOP. Uh, and it was a straw poll. Now granted, this was online. Uh, take that for what it's worth. Um, there were 1,457 individuals that cast their votes. According to the SC GOP, uh, voters' first choice for Senate: Ralph Norman, 29%; Russell Fry, 26.8%; Darlene Graham, 21.8%; Mark Sanford, 12.2%; Mark Lynch, 7.3%; and then the rest are way low. Second choice—they also asked this, and this is a—this is a really legitimate question because odds are this thing's going to a runoff and we're going to be doing this all over again on the 25th.
