Transcript Charlie James: There's a—there's a couple of crazy liberal women out there that have a podcast. One of them is Jennifer Welch, the other one's Angie Sullivan. And these two women, I could... You can just look at their faces. They don't even have to tell you that they're liberal. You can see it in their faces. They're angry about everything. They hate everything that is good, that is decent, that is pure, that is moral. They hate everything that is beautiful. In fact, they hate their children. They hate their children. And I'll give you—I'll explain that in just a second. So, they had this podcast recently talking about homeschooling. I want you to—this is Jennifer Welch talking about homeschooling and what the problem really is: Jennifer Welch: The dumbest people she knew in college were homeschooling their kids. And so, this is trickle-down stupidity. This is MAGA on steroids. This is MAHA. This is tradwife. This is unvaxxed and unjacked and all that [expletive]. This is the worst, worst, worst in this [expletive] is America has a crazy Christian problem. We have a fundamental crazy Christian problem. Charlie James: Got a crazy Christian problem! It's those crazy Christians. Now, I want you to listen to what Angie Sullivan said about it: Angie Sullivan: I just think homeschooling is a bad idea from soup to nuts. I don't care if you're a nuclear physicist. I think it's just [expletive] weird as [expletive] that you want your kids around you all day, every day, and all night. And just the socialization... Charlie James: The socialization! So she can't imagine, this mother that was blessed with children cannot imagine having her kids around her all the time. And the socialization! Let me tell you something, I know—and I have been through homesteading and being an advocate for the homesteading community—I've had the great honor and privilege to meet many homeschooled kids. Let me tell you the difference between a homeschooled kid and your average—not all, but your average—public school child. You can have a conversation with them! You can talk with them. "Hey, how was your day?" "Oh man, it was great! We did this, and we did that, and after lunch, we went over here..." You ask the average middle school or high schooler, "How was your day?" "Uh." "Was school okay?" "Yeah." "Learn anything?" "Nah, I don't know." I know somebody that started homeschooling their kids. And she said the first thing that happened, the first thing that she noticed, was the edge came off. All of a sudden, these kids that are going to a lot of these schools, they are always on defense. They're always on defense. You got social pressure, you've got peer pressure, you've got social media pressure. You've got all of that happening. But when you homeschool your kids, a lot of that goes away. So this woman, Angie Sullivan, instead of spending time with her kids in the, you know, with socialization... she wants her kids to leave the house and go spend the entire day with some stranger who's teaching them Lord knows what? And tell—somebody tell me exactly what socialization happens in school? Is it walking to and from class? Is it going to your locker? Certainly, it doesn't happen during class time. Does it happen at lunch? When? Because you see, when I was growing up, and the Gen Zers and all of that, the Gen Xers and older Millennials, you might remember a little something out there called recess. And that was the best part of school. It was absolute chaos. That half-hour out of your day just looked—it looked so chaotic, but something was happening. Children were learning how to read the room. They were learning how to deal with conflict, how to make friends, how to lose gracefully, how to speak up for themselves, and how to recover when things didn't quite go their way in the kickball game.
