Convinced by China that in all cases AI centers, data centers, are bad. I'm not defending them—don't misunderstand—as Donald Trump screams into the wind begging people to understand, "We are going to lose the AI race to China, and you don't want to live in a world where China controls everything you see." They did it with bot farms. Elon Musk dismantled one massive bot farm—200,000 accounts on X. And I guarantee it's not the only one. Well, if bot farms are required to convince the American people of something—that something is bad, right?—and China's behind that, surely China thinks that thing is bad. No! While waging a propaganda war against data center construction in America aimed at low-information voters, get this: China is offering American companies attractive incentives to build their data centers there, in China! That's super-duper weird. If the data centers are that awful, why would they want them in China? They're offering—China says—$295 billion in direct public funding to help build your projects. 50% discounts on electricity bills if the data center uses Chinese chips. Yes, they can steal all your technology, everything you do, and it's going to be great! Local and provincial government cash grants and tax holidays. Boy, they love them data centers! They keep telling us we don't want them. Discounts of up to 80% on AI compute rentals in Shanghai! Ask yourself this: Do you—and I mean you, Americans, you radio listeners—do you want your data stored and processed in Shenzhen? Or Pittsburgh? That's the choice. "Well, you're just going to have to go ahead and install that Chinese chip. Oh, we're going to be picking up all your personal information, but hey! You get a 50% discount on that electricity! Go ahead and build in China." Well, I thought you guys built entire bot farms to tell us how we didn't want data centers? How bad they'd be for the community? How much energy they use? Which is it? So see, folks, you're seeing the back end of this. The goal was always to make it so impossible to build data centers in America that you'd have to build them in China. And guess what? De facto China controls AI. That's actually kind of brilliant. But what scares me, folks, is how easily they've managed to control this whole thing.
