Erling Haaland enjoyed a dream Premier League debut as his two goals sealed a 2-0 Manchester City win away at West Ham on the opening weekend. Darwin Nunez came off the bench to mark his own English bow with a goal, as Liverpool drew 2-2 at newly promoted Fulham, and Chelsea edged out Everton at Goodison Park. It was a mixed bag for the other promoted teams, as Bournemouth cruised past Aston Villa, but Nottingham Forest marked their long awaited top-flight return with defeat at Newcastle.
