Halal Ban In Uttar Pradesh

The Uttar Pradesh government banned Halal certification on food products including dairy products, sugar, bakery products, peppermint oil, namkeen ready to eat savoury snacks, and food oil on November 18, 2023. After the ban, there was an investigation, and it was found that approximately 500 establishments across different districts and 97 places in the state sell halal-certified products, and roughly 2,500 kg of halal-certified products have been seized till now.
