These noninvasive helmets prove themselves to be a great alternative compared to tight-fitting oxygen masks which decrease patient comfort and are not tolerable for long periods of time. Nurse Savickaite was involved in the successful testing of the helmet ventilator in the ICU at the University of Chicago during a three-year trial study.
