At age 18, Halle entered the United States Air Force, where she served her country for over 20 years in both active duty and as a reservist.During her time in the Air Force, she became a computer operations instructor and received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. She also became a commissioned officer at this time and began her career as an emergency/battlefield nurse.
