Halloween without you
from Poetry by Tim Windisch · host Tim Windisch
Halloween without you Somewhere up in the attic I have boxes with my various holiday junk in Halloween is one, got old witches, ghosts and a big plastic pumpkin I can put up the decorations, and it brings back memories from back years I see so clearly, man those days flew by, hard to choke back the tears Decorate the walls, don’t forget the windows and little things that hang On the branches of our sturdy plants, knickknacks and things that sang Holiday magic, flourished throughout the year with nary a little break Had little more than nothing but it’s all about the memories you make I’m not sure how it looks from the outside, how these things appear I long to blend our tears and laughter both before and with you here Ruminate about days long ago and making new ones in perpetuity It’s a blend you and I some worry that it’s really just an incongruity But we laugh at the notion, we don’t want to cause commotion There’s no secret magic potion, just an awesome undying emotion That we have shared right from the very start, yeah at the beginning Saw in each other’s eyes straight to our heart, still can’t stop grinning Weathered more in a short time than these battered old decorations But just like them, I will always fix them up until the end of creation I’m not trying to impress anyone with the things that I hold dear They’re just testament to all those who helped bring holiday cheer And with God’s blessing I hope to make many more memories with you I’m blessed each moment you’re here, to me each day is a holiday too I get my present every morning when I open my eyes to your face That’s the best gift of all, it tell me that I’m in the right place I love you honey!
