Halo Campaign Evolved is Stunning But...
from Destin Legarie Podcast | Save State Plus · host Destin Legarie
I played a few missions of Halo Campaign Evolved, and so far it feels like a true love letter to the original Halo: Combat Evolved. The visuals are stunning, the gameplay still has that classic Halo rhythm, and the added character moments, skulls, terminals, campaign remix mode, and bonus missions all have me excited. That said, there was one graphical issue that really stood out during my preview. Even on a powerful PC with settings maxed, I noticed what looked like aggressive level-of-detail changes or shimmering on certain textures during motion. It was distracting enough that I asked Halo Studios about it during the preview.Overall, Halo Campaign Evolved is striking the right balance between modernization and staying true to the original. Sprint, mouse and keyboard support, updated enemy behavior, and the expanded presentation all worked better for me than I expected. But I do hope the visual issue I noticed gets addressed before launch.Code/access provided by Xbox.
