Hamas controlling the media image of release as a show of force, expert says

Guy Aviad, a military historian and expert on Hamas, said that the display of force by armed Hamas fighters in the chaotic scenes of the release of hostages was a show of force by the terrorist organization. He told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that releasing Palestinian terrorists into exile abroad often allowed them to return to terror more freely than if they were released inside the West Bank.
