Hamden Catholic Homily: May 10, 2026

from Hamden Catholic · host St. Paul VI Hamden

Today is May 10, 2026 - the 6th Sunday of Easter. Our celebrants were Fr. Jorge Castro and Deacon Dominic Corraro. As we approach the end of the Easter season and draw near to Pentecost, this week's Gospel brings us a powerful and personal message from Jesus: "If you love me, keep my commandments."In today's homily, we reflect on what it truly means to love - not just in beautiful words or warm feelings, but in action, faithfulness, sacrifice, and humble service. Jesus also makes an extraordinary promise: He will not leave us as orphans. Through the gift of the Holy Spirit, He walks with us every day, strengthening our faith, granting us peace in the storms of life, and reminding us that we are never alone. We also pause to offer a special prayer of gratitude for all mothers - those with us today and those now in the presence of the Lord. A mother's love, patient and self-giving, reflects God's own faithful love that never abandons His children.Permission to stream the music in this service obtained from ONE LICENSE with license # A-735133.
