Hammond Russell's Big Role Awaits | Wisconsin Badgers Football News

Hammond Russell IV is poised to anchor Wisconsin’s defensive line with veteran poise and physicality, bringing 13 tackles and 2 sacks from last season to a unit in need of proven leadership. Coach Luke Fickell praises his maturity and team sense, especially as key players depart. Standing 6-foot-4, Russell aims to dominate the trenches in a four-man rotation, with a healthy season expected to yield 15-20 tackles and a few sacks. While injury history and roster uncertainty could limit his snaps, his best-case scenario is a reliable, consistent run-stuffer who elevates the defense without needing to be a superstar.
