Detroit Tigers utility man Matt Vierling came back from the IL too.Joining Mayer as call-ups this week were Chicago Cubs infielder Matt Shaw, who was recalled early in the week, and Washington Nationals outfielder Robert Hassell III. A handful of other prospects are hitting in the bigs this week as well.It seems like teams are more willing to option the veterans on their team that aren't meeting expectations this season. The Chicago White Sox demoted first baseman Andrew Vaughn and the Athletics sent down outfielder JJ Bleday.
