Handling Criticism
from His24-7.com · host Rev. Joel D. McMahon III
Handling Criticism Acts 11:1-18 THE HOLY SPIRIT CHANGES YOU! Look at the transformation in Peter. This is the guy that was ready to call down fire from heaven on a village that didn’t respond favorably to The Lord’s teaching. The one who not long before this moment cut off a guard’s ear defending Jesus. The one who cursed when he denied Jesus the third time and the rooster crowed. The Holy Spirit changes you. When you’re born again, what the Lord thinks matters more than what people think, but not in a haughty way---in an humble way. When the love of God is poured out in your heart, you have a holy confidence in who and what you are that doesn’t need validation from the people around you. but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; (1 Peter 3:15) One of the ways Peter was changed was how he handled criticism. Criticism is always difficult to accept, but if we receive it with humility and a desire to improve our character it can be very helpful.
