Hanuman's Tail

from Nick Wales Hosted by Nick Wales

Lux Tenebris (meaning ‘Light in Darkness’) is a blend of contemporary dark and ambient electronica with classical overtones. The work evolves towards the climax of 'eternal return', where the light returns. Cinematic and richly layered — evoking both shadow and illumination. Exploring how light and darkness shape our lives. I was interested in capturing the luminescence of life and the idea that beauty can be found even in the darkest places. Originally composed for a dance work of the same name in 2016 by choreographer Rafael Bonachela, commissioned by Sydney Dance Company. Cover art : Peter Daverington ‘Empire’ 440cm x 330cm Oil on board (2010) Performed and produced by Nick Wales with Mix engineer - Bob Scott Additional engineering - Ilia Bezroukov featured musicians Kate Moore (electric cello) Veronique Serret (electric violin) Maxine Bibeau (Double Bass) Laurence Pike (additional percussion)
