Melancholy is often considered cool in the art world. Yet, plenty of examples show the extreme consequence of living in a consistent state of sadness and reserved joy. Often, artists and designers think that keeping joy within is the only way to remain happy. The internal satisfaction of living a reserved lifestyle is often the fuel for the some of the greatest work ever.  But, as Newton said, energy cannot be created on destroyed--only transferred.
