Happy As A Lark

from A Closer Walk Broadcast's tracks · host A Closer Walk Broadcast

As believers we are to 'Count it all joy', in the midst of all types of trials, tests and hardships. The Lark bird is attributed to being a cheerful, happy bird which has a beautiful melodious song, It sings while flying or perched, with a more elaborate call and extravagant song than most other birds. Thus the phrase: "Happy as a Lark'. With humans, they tend to sing, mainly when they are happy, or things are going well. But, learning to remain joyful (count it all joy) and staying in faith is a must do, when facing any test or trial. Paul and Silas are good examples to us. They sang songs of praise to God in the midst of their pain and suffering. They choose to worship God, not blame God, gripe and complain about their situation or become fearful. They counted it all joy and their faith produced perseverance and the reward of their perseverance was deliverance by the hand of God. "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." - James 1:2-4, NIV
