Happy Father’s Day Pastor Matt Haflett Luke 3:15-22 ESV 6/18/2023 1. Jesus is Exalted. · Society is flipped and Jesus has been lowered. (Exodus 20:2-4) · To bring people to Jesus, He must be lifted up, and we drop low. (Vs. 16) · John knew who he was, and he knew who Jesus was. 2. The REAL Jesus. · Jesus brings judgement, which people don’t want (Vs. 17) · He is patient with us so that we may be saved, but judgement will come for all (2 Peter 3:9-10) · Jesus is loving, full of grace. He is also forgiving and merciful. We must share the fullness of who Jesus is. (Vs. 18-20) 3. Keep your focus on Him. (Proverbs 23:26) · God has great plans for you, but are you missing it because of the distractions of the world? · When something is front and center to your face, everything else is blurry. We are confronted with a sinful world, being fed lies and the evil of humanity. Put down the phone, turn off the television, focus on Jesus, and make your time with others count.
