Welcome to the Tweed Trends Podcast. Hey, Evette, what's trending today? Hey, I'm Evette, hey girl! And you are tuned in to Tweed Trends.

It's the quickest way to find out what's trending today. Welcome back to Tweed Trends. Today is the Halloween episode. Yes, guys.

Today is Halloween. Happy Halloween. Trick or treat. Thank you for joining me.

As you know, because it's Halloween, all of the topics today are going to deal with Halloween, so without further ado, let's get started. The closer you get to Halloween, the more and more you hear these weird superstitions, and it's like they get a new life. The closer you get to Halloween. So if people see black cats, then all of a sudden, there's a panic.

Oh my gosh, don't let it cross your path. Or don't walk under that ladder. That's going to be bad luck. Or if you break a mirror, you're going to get seven years of bad luck.

All of those things, they just get revived around this time of the year. And this first story is about a Chinese man who was bit by a snake. He acted swiftly. He cut his finger off.

He got bit on the finger by the snake. He cut his finger off, wrapped it up, and then made his way to the nearest hospital, which is about 50 miles away. Unfortunately, the doctors at the hospital are saying, you know what? That wasn't necessary.

You didn't have to cut your finger off. Yes, the snake is venomous. Yes, it could pose a problem. However, you're not showing any signs or anything.

But in my thought, I'm like, maybe it's because he cut his finger off. There's no signs of any types of damage from the venom from the snake. And to the man's defense, he said that his neighbor had died from a snake bite, where I guess he didn't act as fast as this man did. So they cleaned up the wound, got it dressed, sent him home on his way.

The sad part about the whole story, though, is that, unfortunately, they couldn't reattach his finger, because he left it back on the mountain where he was when he got bit by the snake in the first place. Yeah. So all of those urban myths, so to speak, about if a snake bites you, suck the venom out, put it on a tourniquet, do the whole cupoke, turn yourself around. No.

The doctors are saying, don't do it. They say, wrap it tightly and try not to move much at all, either call 911 to have someone come and get you, or make your way to the hospital the best way that you can. But it's not necessary to amputate a limb if, in fact, a snake does bite you. One of those cool things for teens to do around Halloween time is to go to a local cemetery and just hang out, just find some places to sit and just sit amongst the headstones.

And whereas I find that to be kind of creepy and morbid, everything in the graveyard isn't all that bad, because there's actually some humor to be found there. So with that being said, there are plenty of places where you can find these various tombstones, but they're hilarious. Like, you can't help but to laugh. Like, you're in the graveyard and you want to be somber.

You want to show respect. But all in all, you're just kind of like, oh my gosh, this is hilarious. And a few. There's one where I'm hoping on the other side of this tombstone, it has a person's name and all that good information on it.

Because on the side that you can see in the picture, all it says is, I told you I was sick. There's another one where somebody wrote, damn, it's dark down here. Yikes. This one is a couple that were buried in the same plot.

It says, we finally found a place to park in Georgetown. And a famous one, Merv Griffin, it says, I will not be right back after this message. But I am going to put the link out there to a guy on YouTube that undoubtedly has run across the same site that I found. And you can watch him as he goes through these various tombstones and get a little chuckle for yourself for Halloween.

Why not? Speaking from experience, good girlfriends are hard to find, but guess what? I just found two of them. Tanya and Janine, the host of Ous Podcasts talk about real life situations and struggles.

Through their podcast, they keep it real while keeping you entertained. Check them out. Ous Podcasts can be found on Spotify or tune in at anchor.fm slash ous. That's A-N-C-H-O-R dot f-M slash O-U-S-T ous.

Let's round out this fun episode today with costumes. So yeah, my daughter is going to be Peep the Cat in her four groovy buttons. And so I think that means I'm going to end up having to be Peep the Cat's mom. Yeah.

But so there are some other cute ones out there. Kids-wise, I saw this one where the big sister was a lunar lander and the little sister was an astronaut. And I'm telling you, this lunar lander costume, OMG, it looks amazing. It looks heavy, but the parents say that it's mainly made out of foam and stuff like that.

So it's not heavy at all. But I'm like, somebody had some free time on their hands. I wish I had that kind of time or I could build a contraption like that. And it'd have to be a costume contest with some serious prizes for me to go all out like that.

But I'm not hating on these parents. Do you, booze? I mean, if you got the time and you can do it and go all out because they're only young once. Now, that's for the young people, but there are some celebrities out there that are doing the most when it comes to Halloween costumes.

So there's Sierra and Russell Wilson. They dressed up as Beyonce and Jay-Z. I think they did an awesome job. And then the one that had me just kind of in awe, jaw drop, you know, laughing was Ellen DeGeneres.

She dressed up as Cardi E. Twerkin and all. And I'm just like, oh, MG. Yes, you are a comedian.

Because this right here is her, La Rias. Do you hear me? Hilarious. So I got a link.

I'm gonna post it. You can scroll through. You see some other celebs out there. They're dressed up like Jennifer Garner.

Let's see who else Drake now, Drake to me. And his is a little controversial because he was just at odds with his dad because his dad was talking about him and who does he dress up for Halloween? His dad. Really?

OMG. But yeah, posting the link, you can check him out for yourself. It's about the, it's a bunch of them. I can't even tell you.

It's a bunch of pages to scroll through. Take some time, get some laughs, y'all. All right, guys. Well, that's today's episode of Tweet Trends.

Before you go, do me a favor though. Head on over to Twitter and follow me at heyyvette. That's at hey, E-V-E-T-E. Or just look for the hashtag Tweet Trends.

So yes, it's Halloween and whether you are a modern Halloween celebrator or if you prefer to go back to the early origins of the pagan part of Halloween or maybe you fall somewhere in between, all I ask is that you stay safe. Be mindful of your surroundings. If you're out with the little Strictor Treating, make sure you've got your flashlights and moms and dads, put the cell phones away. Put them in your back pockets, put them down, do something.

But be in the moment. Be mindful. Have an eye on your kids because even though people know that they should drive carefully, especially on Halloween because kids are all over the place, there's always a tragedy that happens. Don't let be one to happen on your watch.

So once again, guys, be safe, have fun, and come on back on Tuesday for some more Tweet Trends. Bye.
