Happy New Year from Rapidly Rotating Records January 1, 2023

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Chop Suey Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s. Welcome to the first Rapidly Rotating Records show of 2023!  So why is there a photograph of Chop Suey in this week’s playlist? Well, because the first segment of the show is all about Chop Suey!  My friend, Hollywood Historian Mary Mallory recently wrote an article for the Los Angeles Daily Mirror titled “Chop Suey Comes To Hollywood.”  You’ll find out some interesting facts about the dish and have three helpings of chop suey related songs.  The show starts off with Charles Prince’s first birthday salute and in other segments, we’ll hear some harmonica records, take some selfies and hear from “that girl.”  There’s lots of great music and interesting information, so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and be magically transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Click the audio player above to listen streaming online and/or download the show to listen at your convenience. THANKS FOR LISTENING!ENJOY THE SHOW!
