The visiting medical team will be from Mott's Children's Hospital, University of Michigan. This program is rated #3 in the United States for Pediatric Cardiac Care so our Salvadoran children will be in great hands. We hope to operate 10 more children next week. This will bring us to more than 150 children operated so far this year at Hospital Bloom in El Salvador. Additionally, we have performed non-invasive yet life-saving catheterization procedures on 40 Salvadoran children this year bringing us very close to our goal of operating 200 Salvadoran children in 2013 with one more month to go. By the end of 2013, we will have treated nearly 700 Salvadoran children since the "Our Hearts are in El Salvador" program was initiated in 2010. Our Heartbeats of Hope fundraiser at the end of October was a huge success and 11 children were completely sponsored to receive their lifesaving heart surgeries at the beginning of 2014.
