Good men are not nice men. A good man is the one who gets the job done, and sometimes this may require the use of strength and power. This is why a "nice man" can never be a leader, because it is a form of weakness. Men and women are always on the lookout for strong men to lead them. Women can do it, but they become masculine in the process. To lead the tribe is a masculine trait.

In this chapter of Hard Times Create Strong Men, Stefan discusses the difference between what being a "good man" and a "nice man" is. The systems of power in our society may have changed over time and the need for strong men has decreased. However, the fact that physical power is no longer needed, does not mean that we don't need our strong men in modern-day society.
