In this short episode I discuss the tragic accident that took place at a HardRock Hotel in New Orleans on October 12, 2019. Just hours after pouring the foundation for the rooftop pool, the hotel collapsed, trapping and killing 3 men. Out of the 3 men, Anthony Magrette was the only one removed from the building, and he unfortunately later passed away. The 2 other men, Quinnyon Wimberly & Jose Ponce Arreola, who fell victim to the building’s collapse, remain there today. While the collapse occurred on the Saturday at 9am, Anthony was not taken from the building until the following day at 5pm. He survived for 27 hours after the accident. It’s been 5 months (148 days) and two of these men are still in the collapsed building. I’m sharing their stories in an effort to help bring all 3 individuals the justice that is due. I encourage you to share this horrific accident in act of solidarity with the families of the victims. These families deserve closure, and their loved ones deserve dignity.
