Harlem Restauranteur Melba Wilson

Born and "buttered" in Harlem, Melba Wilson's love for food and its ability to bring people together grew at a young age noting her grandmother as her biggest hero. The chef, restauranteur, cookbook author and TV personality whose aunt is the late Sylvia Woods of the Sylvia's Restaurant, struck out on her own in 2005 on her own believing, "if not now when, if not me, who" and Melba's in Harlem has become a staple in the community since.  Melba Wilson stops by Diaspora Food Stories to share more about her journey in the culinary/hospitality industry, which has expanded by more than 17 years.
