Patrice Dutil discusses the work of Canadian historian Harold Innis with William Buxton of Concordia University, the author of Harold Innis on Peter Pond: Biography, Cultural Memory and the Continental Fur Trade (McGill-Queen’s University Press). Peter Pond was an important explorer and developer of the fur trade, but in the hands of Harold Innis, his story reveals the tensions in that developing sector of Canadian business.
