Harry Potter’ TV Series Due To Hit HBO In 2026

Warner Bros. Discovery is developing a new Harry Potter television series that will adapt all seven books. The series is expected to premiere in 2026 and will run for ten consecutive years. Francesca Gardiner, a writer on the HBO show Succession, has been selected to serve as showrunner and executive producer for the series, which will be directed by Mark Mylod, another Succession alum. While original cast members have expressed interest in returning, Warner Bros. is casting new actors for the main roles and has confirmed that J.K. Rowling will be involved in the creative process, serving as an executive producer and collaborating with the production team. The series will air on HBO Max and HBO cable and is anticipated to have a production budget similar to House of the Dragon.
