Harry Shum Jr. Learns to Dance | Entertainment and Celebrity News

Harry Shum Jr., dance legend turned Dancing With the Stars contender, proves his chops with a jaw-dropping cha-cha that earns top marks — but he’s quick to say his Hollywood hustle and backup dancer past don’t guarantee victory. What sets him apart? A childhood spent mimicking wrestling moves, zero formal training, and a deep hunger to learn — even when it meant surviving on set by mastering choreography fast enough to avoid getting fired. Now, under the spotlight, he’s soaking up feedback like a sponge, embracing technique over instinct — a refreshing shift for someone who thrives on performance. As the season unfolds, from Olympic athletes to comedians, every pair is chasing growth amid grueling rehearsals and high-stakes live shows — and Harry’s journey, fueled by vulnerability and grit, might just be the most inspiring yet.
