hello welcome back to another episode of broken record my name is ellie i'm your host and today we're going to be talking about harry's house the new harry's house studio album i'm so excited to talk about this album i love it so so so so much if you haven't heard this album please do i truly recommend it it's so good i'm gonna read the track list just in case you haven't read it and you don't know what songs i'm talking about or referencing i will give you all the names right now you can understand so in order from top to bottom is music first sushi restaurant late night talking grape juice as it was daylight little freak matilda cinema daydreaming keep driving satellite boyfriends and love of my life music first sushi restaurant is so good um i love this song it's the opening song and it's so good it's just so like funky and silly and fun and i love it um i think that he there's a little like like sticky not sticky just like stickle i don't i don't it's not sickle like i don't know the word but it's just like very like sharp i mean i guess that's the word there's very sharp harmonies and it's so cool and not sharp in a way that like they're bad just sharp and like it's very quick it's just like two words and it's gone and it's two words and it's gone and then you read a little bit and then it comes back and it's gone and i love this song so much it's so good it's also there's a lot of food there's a lot of food named in this album in the first verse of sushi there is fried rice eggs coffee ice cream and blue bubblegum mentioned and i love this song i love the chorus so much he has there's this like cool effect that they put on his voice where it sounds like he's like talking through a phone i guess you could say but like there's like reverb or something on it and it sounds so cool he does that to his voice a couple times in this album and it's so good um it's just incredible i also think that this album is a lot more upbeat than the previous albums well i guess not like upbeat but it's definitely a lot more like not sad i guess there's like maybe two or three songs that are there's two songs that are sad and then two songs that are debatable about they're sad or not so the one song that i instantly think of when someone says there's a song in his house that is sad is matilda matilda really got me in the heart it was it's so good but it's so sad and it's so it's just so beautiful it's such a beautiful song and i cannot tell you how much i love it and how much it holds a special place in my heart and so here he basically wrote this song like acting as if so he had a friend that went through a situation and this was kind of like him saying like this is kind of like what he wanted to say to her but he just never did and so he wrote the song and then he kind of disguised it as saying um like as if he was talking to matilda from world all's matilda like when she was grown up and it's so good i love i love the chorus in this song i think it's so important and so beautiful and it's so good the chorus says you can let it go you can throw a party full of everyone you know and not invite your family because they never showed you love and you don't have to be sorry for leaving and growing up that is so oh my god he's just such a genius i love yourself so much and i love his writing and i love that chorus i think it's so sad i think it's so important and so beautiful i love yourself so much okay next one i want to talk about is called keep driving this song quickly like when i first initially heard this album this was like this song was like in my top three and i think it's still in my top three i think there's just more than three songs in my top three right now um but it's fine i mean who cares honestly it can all be my favorite um but yeah so i keep driving it's just so like it is just such a go like a go with the flow kind of beat like not that like it changes a lot but just like when i think of like go with the flow and like what that would sound like it's like the speed i also literally love the bridge the like so the bridge like slowly builds like it's not like sentences or anything it's just like little phrases and it slowly builds to like louder and louder and more dramatic and then it goes it's all good hey you and then it goes into the outro where it says should we just keep driving and when it gets to the hey you and should we the like instruments climax and then it just drops and it's just silent for just keep driving and it sounds so good it sounds so good it's so satisfying in that moment right there there's like five seconds between it's all good and should we just keep driving it literally made that my top three like i'm not it's so good it's so good it's so good okay um okay i also loved grape juice here he had a reaver not a reaver i don't know what it's called but he had some effect on his voice basically the whole song and it was it's so good like it's just so i i can't explain how much i love this album and this song grape juice he's talking about wine but he calls it grape juice and i love this song i think it's just i like a lot of from what i've seen in like online stuff a lot of people don't like this song as much as the other songs but i actually really like it i think it's just like it reminds me of europe in like a very odd way like it reminds me of france and just like sitting on the countryside and like the movies you see where it's like it's like a couple and they're like looking out at the vineyard and they're drinking their wine and they're watching the sunset like it just reminds me of i feel like that song would be playing but yeah um my favorite not my favorite lyric in um this song not because of the lyric but because of how it sounds when he sings it and like how like the production on this lyric is so good like i want to know how he did it and how like his producers and stuff did it um the lyric is i'm so over whites and pinks it's in the second verse and it's like i just something about that line is just so satisfying to me it just like tickles my brain in the right way and it's so just like it's so good um but yeah i also want to talk about daylight daylight is i think maybe the most drum heavy song on this album if i'm remembering correctly yeah okay so the last chorus and um the pre-chorus and the chorus the last pre-chorus and chorus of this song is so beautiful there's so many instruments and it's just it's like a musical symphony and it's so good and it's just like i love that part of the song um it's so good i also love the lyric that says if i was a bluebird i would fly to you i think that's really cute i think that's adorable um okay but can we just go back to the drums for a second because literally so good so good i love this song so much and i like i love this song so much um i also want to talk about one more song that is called i want to talk about boyfriends boyfriends is such a good song um i think it's so good when my mom heard it for the first time she said it reminded her of little big town which i love because well she said that because little big town always has like incredible harmonies and this song is so good it has so many just like incredible harmonies and i love listening to it and i love i love i love i love how you can hear the different harmonies like you can like it's so cool to be able to pick out an individual harmony and just like follow it in the music it's so it's so cool um this song is kind of sad it's also kind of slow but it's so good i think it's so beautiful and just so nice to listen to because it's like just so satisfying to hear i don't know it's so good i can talk about this forever and ever and ever but i won't do that to you
