Hass McCook is a civil engineer and project manager of major public and private infrastructure and large-scale residential projects and a devoted bitcoin evangelist. In this episode we discuss energy and the business of mining, we compare the environmental and social impacts of gold and bitcoin mining and then we consider Hass’ most recent work analogizing the broader bitcoin idea to the idea of a secular religion. Thus far we’ve laughed as we’ve discussed this idea with tounge in cheek but I can see a future where a secular bitcoin religion grows and spreads as a means of spreading the traditions and values of holders around the world.
