Hat Incident Ejects Manager, Cards Win | St. Louis News

The Cardinals pulled off a wild 7-6 win over the Rockies, thanks to Iván Herrera’s game-changing three-run homer in the ninth. But the real drama unfolded in the sixth when rookie pitcher Hancel Rincón’s hat drew the ire of umpire Doug Eddings, who demanded he adjust it — sparking a heated exchange that led to manager Oli Marmol’s ejection after a pitch clock violation. Eddings later missed a crucial call, letting the Rockies take the lead, but the Cardinals held on. Marmol called the hat incident “embarrassing,” especially for a rookie’s debut, while Eddings admitted there’s no official rule — just an unwritten guideline. Despite the chaos, St. Louis came out on top. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
