As kids we were taught to be careful when playing because we might fall down a well.  I lived in Southern California.  There were no wells.  We had indoor plumbing.  We were civilized.  We were not animals.  Except when it came to Christmas.  Well at least I was an animal when it came to Christmas.  Actually I was more just obsessed.  Pouring over the Sears Wishbook.  I looked at each page and gauged what were the perfect toys.  I did this too when I went to the actual toy store but in truth my passion lay in looking at the images in the catalog.  Not surprising that I spent 20 years making living buying and selling on eBay every day.  Our childhoods inform everything about our adult lives.
