Hatha Yoga
from Today’s Gut Health Tip · host Melissa Hall Klepacki, M.Ac.
Hatha is broken down as ‘ha’ meaning ‘sun’ and ‘tha’ meaning ‘moon’. This refers to the balance of the masculine – sun, hot, active – and the feminine – moon, cool, receptive – within all of us. Classes labeled as "hatha" are slower-moving, thoughtful practices that focus on basic, beginner-friendly poses. However, it's important to recognize that the term "hatha" is actually a generic designation for any form of yoga focused on movement. In America, almost every yoga class is, technically, hatha, so make sure you ask the instructor what you can expect before your first class. Here is a link to a 20 minute intro to hatha yoga if you’d like to try it at home but I really recommend finding a class because a good yoga teacher is vital to making sure you have proper form http://bit.ly/GuudHatha Come check out our full site at www.theguudcompany.com
