In the dead of night, as people sleep, that is when the spirits creep. As the bell tolls three dark things take power, we like to call it the supernatural hour. And now. Hey, welcome to the Supernatural Hour.
This is your host, Raven. This is Doc. And I'm Chad. So, we are coming to you, not from the Washoe Club this time.
Yeah. We're back in the, what are we calling it? The Attic of Despair. The Attic of Despair.
And I haven't been in the Attic of Despair for a while. I've called in a few times from home, but I'm just happy to be in the studio. Doc's been calling it in. Yeah.
Well, and he lives quite a ways away. I mean, far enough, close enough is not ridiculous to come up, but far enough away that it makes you easier. But it worked out, it worked out today. So, I'm happy to be in the Attic of Despair, as weird as that sounds.
Yes. So Emmett, just as a feeling well tonight, Jess has got Renaissance Fair on the weekends, the next few weeks, and Rogue is enjoying being a brand new grandma. For like the first time, right? Yes, first time, first time grandparents.
Congratulations, Rogue. So, they will be here next time. So, she's Granny Roke now. She's Granny Roke.
Parkinson's back to Granny Cinnamon. We do not mention that name. Granny Cinnamon. Ever.
Okay, you're out. You know what's bad news when you're named Cinnamon. There's a long story. And if any of you are named Cinnamon, I apologize.
Okay, so Chad, do you want to talk about our business? Our business. We had some business that we accomplished just last night. We did go to the Fort Douglas Museum and have a great investigation.
We're going to talk about that later. Business is coming up. We're going to have some more investigations. We'll have one about six weeks out.
At this point, we don't have it officially scheduled yet. Right, because we literally just had our most recent one last night. I mean, as you when you hear this, it'll be Wednesday, it's Sunday as we're recording. We literally had our Fort Douglas last night.
And we'll talk more about that. But yeah, we don't have any other investigations currently scheduled. We're working on those. The other thing that we've been doing is hanging out and making sure that we've got stuff up on YouTube and our podcast.
So, that's kind of a business. And the business that we don't have has been brought to you by Castle Photo Art. Yep, he does a great job. So, and Castle Nature's due to you too, I guess.
Sorry. I had some. Podcasting equipment to Virginia City. And our microphones are held in by these little rubber band things of like air ties.
And they zig and they zag and they look kind of retro and kind of cool. But I think I spend every third or fourth podcast trying to zig and zag. And if you don't, the microphones flop it around. And I think I'm happy.
I think you read lights a little bit on the song. Except it's turned sideways. Dang it. Now you sounded OK though.
No, it's fine. I just zigged and zagged. I don't have the microphone in the right spot. We've got two residentials that I'm in the process of scheduling.
But in the meantime, we can talk a little bit about Fort Douglas. So Chad, I'm actually going to have you start. I want you to talk about the attack. Because you were more directly involved with that than I was.
Oh, we had a couple of them. One of our investigators that helped with the hosting, Vivian, right out the door. I think they were down in the poker room. I think that's where they started out first.
And no, no, actually she was in the library. Yeah, they were in the library. They were in the library. And I get a call over the radio that she's not feeling well.
And that she's usually the one doesn't usually have this problem. Skyler is the one that usually gets attacked. And he was there with her. And I couldn't go help because I didn't have.
You were leading a group. I was leading a group and I didn't have a second. Yeah. And the game went and got her.
And we brought her back to the main base. And she got the selenite out. And we sprayed her with sage spray and selenite. And she got feeling a little bit better relatively quickly.
But she was having those issues pretty much most of the evening. She never did go back and investigate. She stayed in the main base area in the lobby and took on some water. And the selenite held the selenite in the city.
And she said that the selenite got really warm. Much warmer than usual. When we were going from, I think it was our last rotation. We were going from the poker room to the library.
She came out and said, you got to fill this selenite. And I felt the selenite and it was hot. And it wasn't just a warm body. It's been holding a stone for a while.
It was a lot of temperature. It was toasty. And that's weird because you think, hey, that's a rock. And they don't generate heat.
And I'm holding it in my hand. Yeah. So I found that interesting. How hot that selenite was.
Yeah. It seemed, when I felt it seemed warmer than usual. Sounds odd. And then there was another girl that got attacked.
We had another girl. And I didn't know that one until we were packed up. And it happened towards the end. And she was actually down in the poker room.
I was down there with Skyler because Vivian had been with Skyler. And Skyler tends to have some of these psychic attacks happen to him. And I thought, I don't necessarily end up down in the poker room on his own, you know, with a group, without another investigator where he's kind of prone to that. So I actually went down with him.
And another one of the people that came to the investigation, she'd standing over in the corner of the room. Kind of we always agreed up and we were asking questions. And she started to get feeling a little bit dizzy. And so we had her sit down in a chair.
And then she said, I'm starting to not feel very good, a little nauseated, a little bit. So I took her up and we got her some water and our cell and I sprayed her with the sage rays and checked her out. And I think she's sensitive to this because she also had a bit of a psychic attack. She was our original petite meat investigation.
She had a bit, she was the one that was given the blessing there. Yeah, I remember that. So she's a bit of a bit sensitive also. But she loves it.
I mean, she loves coming to the investigations, even though she's kind of susceptible to things. So I was about to say, Chad, I'm only about you did not suffer a psychic attack. I did not suffer a psychic attack. I don't know what to take.
You don't seem like the type. I would be afraid to see what it would take to get him to register anything. All these going to happen. That's all I'm saying.
Well, I might get angry. I mean, I could see that happening, but that just might be me. It's not your nature. We saw you get pretty angry trying to get the podcast going.
We had a little technical difficulties getting it going and he can get a little bit of this. I think we had gremlins here. I mean, literally. We had just a little interesting side story.
I had the soundboard set up. Everything was working fine. I was checking the sound waveforms on our audible file to make sure. Doc came and we set up his microphone and all of a sudden the waveforms no longer showed up.
I went through and punched everything on the soundboard as I could. I changed everything. We restarted the computer. We restarted the program.
I unhooked the soundboard and hooked it back up. Same problem with that. Same file. We got it fixed.
We got it figured out. I thought, well, I'm going to go and see if I can pull up an old broadcast, an old file that we did. I did. I was able, you know, I renamed it.
We still have the old file, but I renamed it to this episode and started it. The waveforms worked. We will discuss what might be in our job tour. I'm not going to tell you.
You'll just have to wait. That was a very frustrating 20 minutes for me. I hate it when technology doesn't work in the soundboard. I'm getting better at it, but sometimes it gives me gremlins, you know, gives me issues.
Anyway. Overlap was a good investigation. I think when we first got there, I don't know if people haven't been there for a long time. I didn't ask for when the last time investigators were there.
But usually when we go to Fort Douglas, it's hopping pretty quick. Part of that, though, is when we have gone to Fort Douglas, usually we can get right into the basement where they have the headstones. And the reason they have headstones there, if you're not familiar, they bring headstones down from the cemetery that's on the fort for restoration purposes. Some of them have been broken or have come loose, so they bring them to restore them.
Literally, some of them are just eroding away. Right. So they're in this restoration process. It's not like they just have random headstones down there for the thought of it.
And there's a lot of dark energy down there, type 3, which if you're new to our podcast is a demonic entity. Because of some things that they're doing, we're not granted access to that area right now. And so I've noticed, I think we've only been there twice since they've had that area closed off. I think it's because we can't get to where those dark spirits are that they don't.
It's not as dark as it has been in the past when we've investigated there. Our first section, my group's first section was just in the main museum area. And we were able to get some of those type 3s to come up the stairs and turn on the cat moles that we've got. We started to get kind of a heavy feel.
And we were talking to a female spirit, I believe her name was Sarah or Jane. I don't remember what it was. Or Sarah Jane. No, it was just one.
We chatted with her. We had a fellow in our group that could actually see in here spirits. And so, you know, he just reached out to you a minute ago and... Yeah.
So he could see her. It was interesting because he would ask questions through the Ghost Meter Pro and he knew the answers because he could see her. And it was interesting to see that, you know, that she was answering, you know, why he was seen. And so, you know, to get that immediate confirmation was kind of cool.
I was like, okay, yeah, my equipment does actually work. So we chatted with her for a while. And then we went down into the poker room. And again, in the poker room, it was a little quieter than usual.
I spoke a little bit of German. Tell them a little bit about poker room. Give them a little background for people that are not familiar with this area. So Fort Douglas, at one time, held prisoners of war in World War I, not two, one.
And so, this poker room, it's a room in the basement. It's other than some electrical ductwork and plumbing. It's original. There's even some graffiti that some of the prisoners carved in on the door.
You have to be careful not to stand on the outside of the floor against the walls because it's a little thin. And there you can fall through. You're not going to fall into the center of the earth. But it's a little floriborn.
It's been a while since I've looked in the hole in the corner, but it's a good three or four feet down there. I think you can break an ankle or something. At one point, people have wanted to remodel it and put sheet rock up and make it a storage room. And both the curator, there's like, no, this is original.
This is a story. They don't even have anything in there. Yeah, it goes back into the 1890s or 18, maybe earlier than that when Fort Douglas was first established. In the late 1600s.
Good on. You can build a shed anywhere. Keep it original. That's my opinion.
Yeah. So other than some stuff that they had to do for plumbing upstairs and electricity, it's all original. So we were in there. I took German in high school in junior high.
I got okay, I would say good, but okay. I just never used it so forgot about it. But when I'm taking my Arabic tests, boy, that German just comes flooding back. I have the same problem with Russian and Spanish where I'll have patients that will start speaking to be in Spanish and sometimes I want to respond in Russian, which will only complicate things.
Doesn't help. Yeah. So I dusted off a little bit of Germany. I was able to say, hello, are you here?
How are you doing? You know, and we got some responses back on that. That was kind of interesting. We got some, we heard some sounds.
We heard some voices. I believe we heard Gral, Michelle, and her two boys were there. She got a real interesting photo. I need to see if she'll send it to me.
You know, some interesting shadows. And when we were talking to the German spirit, it was through the... It goes to me to pro? It goes to me to pro.
It goes to me to pro. A little bit of flashlight play, which I find interesting because in Virginia City, the spirits like the flashlights the most. I mean, in Virginia City, they hardly ever used the goes to me to pro. Yeah, so it's just interesting to see what the spirits like.
I hardly got the flashlights to turn on at all. So our last area was out in the library, and that's the first place that we finally got some flashlight play. We were down in the poker room and it got cold because it's not heated down there. It was cold.
And so we had only about 10 minutes before we rotated and I said, you know what? I said, the library is big enough. They're probably in the actual library, which is kind of small, but there's a great big... They call it the barracks area.
Yeah, the great big outer room. And there's a table there that they said was an embalming table from the 1800s. Yeah, Bo actually talked about that to me a little bit. He said, I thought about moving it, and then I thought, no, they're like this.
And he was right. Yeah, so we... I said, let's just go out in that bigger room. I said, it's big enough.
I'll go tell them that we're here so they don't think they're hearing disembodied voices. And we got a little bit of flashlight play in there. And then we went into the library part when it was time to rotate. And that for us, for my group, was the hot spot of the night.
We kept hearing disembodied woman's voices and everybody heard it. Audibly or... Audibly, yeah, it's a disembodied voice. You're hearing it audibly.
I didn't know if you were talking about through an EMP that you were reviewing. No, but audibly. EVP. I say EMP.
Yes, you did. I guess that's where my preferred language went. Yes. Michelle's dowsing rods were tracking what we believe was a type 3 that was pacing.
They kept telling us there were 80 spirits in there, but I don't think there were 80 spirits in there. I think it was a type 3 messing with us, but we would ask it to knock and it would knock. We would see shadows. There's a woman in there with red hair.
The gentleman that could see spirits could see. Describe for you. He said he could see something... And he just told me this tonight.
He told me that he could see something crawling up on the bookshelf behind me. I said, well, that makes sense because having the feeling that there was a spirit above us sitting on the lights. There's some fluorescent lights that kind of hang down. Anyway, it was a good night.
I think it was with a lot of good stuff. I think most of the groups actually didn't stay the whole time down in the poker room. It's cold. It's cold.
And it's a relatively small area. Previously, we'd been able to do more in the basement than just the poker room. And with it being cold, we could try the poker room with the outside. Because there's some interesting old tanks and military artifacts and the 9-11 memorial and a number of things outside that are really interesting to do.
Right. Which I had the little notes on my thing, the 9-11 memorial. And my brain just said 9-1-1 memorial. So I sounded like an idiot in front of 30 people.
But taking, you know, whatever. Yeah. And we actually sold out this investigation two weeks early. I mean, we had it completely sold out.
And there were some people making questions about that. We're kind of wondering if that's something we might want to schedule again relatively quickly. If there's more people that would be interested in that. Because it is a great venue.
You know, you don't want to miss that. It's something that's one of them. This is one of them. Salt Lake City, a high university of Utah campus.
Is that right? Yeah. Have you ever been to it? I've not.
Oh, and I'm not even talking as an investigation. Just as a museum. It is fascinating. Well, maybe next time.
Yeah. Yeah. In fact, it's funny when we went into the library. So there's the books.
But there's also a lot of guns and shells lining the walls. And we went in there and everyone's looking at the exhibits. All the exhibits. I think I'm thinking of coming back in the morning.
But I get it. I get it. They pick it because they can do what they want. And in that room, there's just a big table.
So we'll just go down on the table and have all of our stuff around it. And who would that people look? But yeah, if you ever want to go to it, just where a historical museum experience is, they've really done a good job. Yeah, they've got a really cool model of the city of Salt Lake.
I think it's a destroyer or cruiser. It's not a battleship, but it's a big, it's probably 10 feet long. You know, and there's history about that. There's, I think, stuff there for the battleship Utah and some of the other things.
And again, it's Army. They've got Navy Army. It really is a military museum. It's just an Army museum or that.
It was an Army base, but it's really a military museum. Very cool. Yeah. And if you haven't been there for a handful of years, at one point they just had a big conference room, but they've taken that and they've really done a lot of work and made it more museumy.
Yeah, it's a great place. All right, I want to tell next time. Absolutely. Or just go up on your own.
Take your kids up because it would be a fun day trip. And I believe it's free, right? But coasts. I think so.
I mean, you know, it's like, well, it's free, but you know, please. Donations are welcome. And I could be wrong because I have never gone through it as just a museum. I don't think.
So the curator and Bo and I were talking and he said, you know, try to look at how can we get more, you know, people to come and everything else. He says, I'm looking at maybe trying to get some kind of tie in with some of the gaming and some of that. And he says, kids come in all the time with their parents and the kids start educating their parents about the different equipment and the different stuff. And they go, how do they know about it?
Call of duty. Exactly. That's what he said. He goes, these kids know about all these equipment and all these different things are getting education about some of the historical stuff from Call of Duty and some of the gaming that they're doing.
And he said, they're looking at what can they do to enhance that connection to maybe bring some of the people in. But I thought it was funny because yeah, the kids many times have a better historical grasp on what some of these items are and some of these different things. Probably even some of the battles and things that were fought because a lot of the Call of Duty stuff they, you know, try to reenact or replicate. Right.
And then there's the other ones, and I don't even know the names, but there's a lot of them where they reenact battles of World War I and World War II and Battlefield or whatever. Yeah. All of that kind of stuff that the kids get into and they see all this stuff. There's just so many exhibits and things there to see.
It's a really excellent museum and we are so glad that they allow us to investigate there and we're very grateful to Bo and to the... Yeah, because even though even though the poker room gets kind of chilly, it's still a nice indoor venue to do in this time of year. Okay. It's the 9-11 memorial in February outside.
The 9-11 memorial. Oh, sorry. Okay. So our topic tonight is not about Fort Douglas.
Our topic tonight is brought to you by Otayos. It is haunted dolls. Haunted dolls. Dals are creepy.
Dals really are creepy. And I love creepy looking dolls. I only have two. I've got three in my collection.
That are haunted? No, they're just creepy. That I pull out of it. They're all but haunted.
The kids think they're haunted. There's two that are really, really good. And then I had the third one which I kind of liked the look of the doll but I didn't like how her face was painted. And my daughter is a really good artist and so she repainted the face.
The person I bought it from had painted it so that it looked like it had crying mascara dripping down the face. Okay. But it was not very good. No.
The execution was not fabulous. So my daughter repainted. It looks a lot better. So I was actually doing some reading on why people think dolls are creepy.
I mean, obviously they just are but some of what I was looking at, they mentioned, you know, the more realistic you get the closer you get to realism, like it messes with your brain because we're so not quite there. Yeah. Because as a species, we are really good with face recognition. I mean, that's how babies kind of recognize their parents and things really early on.
And they're just phenomenal. They call the uncanny valley where you have this gap between knowing something is not real but it looks real and that wigs us out as human beings because you're better senses say this isn't a real thing but your carnal senses are saying, my looks real. Right. And so it makes us feel very uncomfortable.
It makes us feel like something obviously isn't right. And I was like, well, what's the point? Like at what point do we start kind of feeling that creepy wigged out feeling and they did a study with dolls and babies faces? This was a Dartmouth, I think.
And once you get to about, you know, they were kind of overlaid the doll with the baby and kind of mix it with certain percentages of real baby face and doll face, once you got to about 60 to 65% real is when people really said, okay, that looks creepy. Not a fan. If it's not looking real or if it looks real real, they're okay, but it's kind of that. Yeah, real is okay.
But once you start, yeah, when you're kind of like that in between, you're like, that isn't real, but it looks kind of real is when your brain just freaks out and does not love it. And I'm sure that has implications and why dolls become haunted things. So one of the reasons why they become haunted and we've touched on this here and there in previous podcasts, but where this is 201. So it's been a hot minute.
201 what podcast? Oh, okay. That's a lot of podcasts. It's our 201st episode.
So that you're listening to. So one of the reasons is the money entities, the type three, they never had bodies. They will never get a body. They want bodies.
They're pissed off that we have bodies basically. And so their job, their goal in life is to just create an Israelos. And that's very, very broad. Don't start emailing me about all the little nuances.
I know there's nuances, but that's the very broad perspective there. But they are so desperate for bodies that they will inhabit anything they can that even looks like a body just to try to have that semblance of being a human. So that's why you get a lot of haunted dolls, haunted masks, haunted pictures. So that's one of the theories and it's a very strong theory.
It probably doesn't hurt that these are items that are cultural pieces that people interact with and engage with. And like I said, masks are dolls. They're just in our homes. We interact with them on a regular basis.
It probably facilitates that a little bit as well. Right. And there's a lot of emotions. Think about dolls.
Little girls play with dolls. And when you're sad, you're going to have your doll. When you're sick, you're going to have your doll. If you're happy, you're going to take your doll with you.
And you got your doll for Christmas. So there's also a lot of emotions around that. Also with masks. And I know we're not really doing masks, but it's kind of one of the same thing.
Masks are usually, like the African masks are involved with rituals and dances or rituals and things like that. There's a lot of intention that's put into them, for sure. Also cursed objects. You know, curses are real.
It depends on the intent you put into it. And so things like dolls are a very easy thing to put some intent into. So sometimes people don't really think about this and they'll always think, oh, there's blessings. Blessings are wonderful and everything.
They're the reverse of a blessing. So much even with the blessing. It's imbuing intent and trying to make something good and positive happen where a curse is effectively the uppers of that. It's the same principle just applied for a different time.
For a different time. Generally, yeah. Trust me. I could also see where we mentioned that A, I think dolls are creepy, but B, maybe people are a little more willing to be vulnerable or emotionally, I guess, vulnerable with dolls, right?
It's one I'm sad I want my doll. And I think that you kind of open yourself up a little bit more. Maybe to potential energies there. And so the entities take advantage of that openness that people provide to the objects.
With the objects. Yeah, because you know, you would think they would want to be in things that people want to interact with more. It's like, oh, I'm going to go haunt that lawn mower. Okay, it's a Stephen King Shower's haunted leaf blower.
Yeah. And I mean, there are objects that are haunted like that and they're going to be, in my opinion, you know, from the things that I have read, not that I'm the foremost expert on it, but those are going to be more attachments rather than the haunting or haunting. And I mean, and that's, you know, people could argue with me and say, oh, this is the same thing. In my mind, you're attached to something because you, you know, there's a connection to it.
Whereas you've got these dark spirits that are like, I'm going to have a body and living in that antebellal as close as I'm going to get to it. Right. Yeah, I think some of the object attachments are more of usually a living person had that object and it was meaningful to them. And there's their energy is there.
I don't know that they're living with it or they're, you know, always there with that. But there's a part of their essence is still with that, right? As an attachment. That's where, you know, that's why you always the story always starts with, oh, I found this at a yard sale or an antique store because there's a history, right?
There's a history behind it. And there's a lot of emotion and intent that is attached to that particular object. Right. So I have a list.
Again, run the list. I don't know if it's even a list. I mean, there's just doing research. It's like, let's research haunted dolls and, you know, they would have, hey, there's this not a doll in that hotel.
So this isn't necessarily a list, but the YouTube video I got it off of did number them. So, you know, whatever list of most haunted dolls or just haunted dolls period. I think they went from, from least haunted to most haunted. It seemed that way.
But with a lot of things, oftentimes, unless things get numbered when they're really more of bullet points, we've kind of talked about that. But these are just, you know, there's 10 different things and depending upon you, this one may be more creepy than that one. Yeah, because there was something I'm like, yeah, that one seems kind of dumb. I'm not going to talk about it.
They were something like they talked about Valley of the Dolls. We actually have an entire episode on the Valley of the Dolls. No, Valley of the Dolls is a, is a 1970s, 60s movie. We're talking about the idea of the Dolls.
I live on the Dolls. I live on the Dolls. That's, I think, an R-rated 1970s movie. People could listen to this say, boy, Raven.
It's just really hard to communicate with. I am. I think Sharon Tate was a family. You can watch Guys and Dolls.
I am charming. I can't talk very well, but I'm, that's the word I want. I make delight. You are the light.
I don't like the look on your face. Okay, movie reference. 1980s-ish, Kurt Douglas, and Margaret, the movie is called The Villain. This is going back to your charming comment.
Okay. Okay. And she said to him as she meant Arnold. You know, what's your name?
And he says, handsome stranger. And she said, that's an interesting name. And he says, I was named after my father. And he says to her, what's her name?
And she says, charming. And how did you get that name? Well, when my mother told my father that she was pregnant, she said, charming. Just charming.
That was a squirrel moment. What just happened? Fun movie is very much like the Roadrunner comics of the, you know, thing, but it's an actual movie, Western kind of fun. Like I said, we sometimes, we sometimes do movie reviews here.
And we do. It's been a hot minute since we've done the movie review. All right. Okay.
Back to our topic. I can at least stay on topic. I don't know if I'm able to say the right words, but I'm on topic. There's a doll called the Caroline doll.
And the belief of the people that have owned her, they say she's not malicious. They believe that the three little girls that owned her, that their spirits are attached to this doll. And they're kind of fighting for ownership of her. So this could kind of go whether you believe that it's, you know, an attachment by the people that owned it or if it's a negative spirit.
But where they say it doesn't seem to be malicious. You know, you could kind of pause. But being said, a negative entity is not going to just jump out and be malicious first thing. You know, it's going to be cute to start with.
So who knows? But they said, she tends to whisper to the owners kind of would move the last time they saw this. And they showed a picture of this doll. This doll looked a little creepy.
If you remember Lady Lane Fairchild from Mr. Rogers. Yeah, she was kind of creepy. This doll reminded me.
I mean, it's not like, oh, that looks exactly the same but kind of esque. Getting those like marionette vibes. Yeah. Yeah.
Not like a clown, but overly done makeup. No, but no one has seen this doll since 2004. So who knows? And they don't know where the doll went.
Nope. No, I don't know what happened to her. So the next one is called Susie. And this is actually the information they got was from the Lorraine Warren Files.
So this is a doll that she, they actually called her in to help with this one. There's a gal named Heather Platt and she made this doll. For her niece? No, Heather Platt is the niece.
And the doll was made for her by her aunt. And that night, the night that they got the doll, the parents woke up to growling. And they said they saw a dark shadow that seemed to come from outside and move around the house. And things would move in the kitchen.
Their hair would be pulled. That all itself would move around the house. And it ultimately took the Warrens doing an exorcism to get the doll out of the house. And to get the spirit.
And it's not like they made this with any bad intent, right? They didn't say anything about it. And everything on this, I'm sure there's a huge long backstory, especially if it's got the Warrens involved. But you wouldn't think so.
Yeah, I would say. It almost seemed as they described that, that it was like this entity came almost like down the road. And recognized, oh, here's a vessel to come into. Take up residence.
That's just where I was going to. I think it might have been the wrong thing at the wrong time. You know, an entity looking for some sort of a doll thing to occupy. I was like, oh, hey, I like that one.
Maybe something dark going on. And then just boom. Yep. So there's one called Old Man Puppet.
The doll was creepy. This one was creepy. So this guy bought this doll was a puppet. I'm kept it in the drawer next to his bed.
And he woke up being choked by the doll. It's like some poltergeist stuff right there. Yep. Let's see.
Oh, so they finally took this doll and they put it in a glass case and they called some paranormal investigators. And they actually set up a video and video of this doll, Old Man Puppet. And they actually have video of him moving inside this locked glass case. That sounds creepy.
So that to me sounds like a doll with malicious intent. Let's try to choke you out. So in 2008, this happened in Florida, you know, the talking Elmo dolls. Yeah, like the tickle me Elmo ones?
The Yibush? Yeah. They can talk to you. So there's a one there.
Yeah, there was one that would make death threats to his two year old owner and it would say kill James. Okay. The mom wasn't too excited about that. The two year old was James?
Yes. Oh, yeah. Probably not the best toy. No.
And they did say that these dolls you could program them to say your name. Right. The child to make a personal. You know, so that they would talk to you.
But kill wasn't like one of the options. No, and neither the parents would have done that because that's just creepy, right? Or Mattel Fisher Price offered them a refund, which was good. I knew that.
I was like fair enough. They did say that there was no issues with this Elmo doll until they changed the batteries. They changed the batteries and suddenly started saying kill James. So I don't know.
But that's kind of creepy. What did they say what they did with the doll? Burn it. I would have done it again.
So this is one that I thought was creepy. It's called the Devil Baby doll. So in New Orleans, 19th century, Marie Lovo, we've actually done a podcast on her. Interesting.
The Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. The Voodoo Queen. She actually cursed a bride and the bride gave birth to purportedly a child who was literally the spawn of the devil. Hence is the story.
And so the Creoles in the area, this freaked them out. They didn't want to be given birth to the spawns of the devil. So they made these dolls to protect themselves. It was kind of scattered and lost.
Well some fellow was able to find some of these dolls and bits and pieces of the dolls and kind of glued them back together. But these dolls are interesting. I think he's got a couple of them. I think he's got a handful of them.
But these dolls tend to rustle and whisper, make rustling noises. They cry when they're apart. They tip over ash trays. So they do some pretty interesting things.
And this doll to me looked creepy. It's just called Devil Baby doll. They kind of looked like a little devil baby. Yes, they did.
And kind of Frankenstein. Little horny, little horns. Kind of like a cute doll with horns and weird looking face. So just kind of on that same line, there was a voodoo doll.
It's called the Voodoo doll of New Orleans. And it made its way to Galveston. And it looked like a voodoo doll. It looked like burlap just kind of wrapped in the shape of a basic human.
I mean it wasn't like a doll you'd give to your daughter to play with. And I think it was Lady Bonnoff of eBay. And the owners said that it was almost alive. She said it attacked her.
It kind of affected her dreams. She tried to sell it several times on eBay. And she would ship it off to the people. They would get an empty box and she would have the doll sitting on her porch.
Or she'd find it in her house. She's like, I sent you a way. She finally sold it to a ghost hunter and it hasn't come back. I'll start with doll varieties going on here.
Oh man, puttits, Elmo's, Voodoo dolls. So this one I thought was interesting. I know, right? Everywhere.
I'll start. So this is called the House Song Singapore. Some people found this doll sitting in your tree. And I thought this doll was actually kind of pretty.
It was a pretty doll. Yeah, it was like a ceramic, older doll from the cloth bodies in the ceramic. And one of the things that drew these people to this doll, it wasn't just a doll sitting by tree, but it had blindfolded. And then it had a note on it that was an Arabic.
And the writing said praise be to God or I wrote it down. Did you write it down in Arabic? No, I didn't. You could.
Yes, I could actually. I'm saying. I thought I would remember it. But it was something like God is great or something like that.
And they put it on Reddit. And basically, after they put it upon Reddit, they were able to get hold of the original owners. And the original owner said that they could only, they never really said what it did. They said they could only get rid of it by covering its eyes so it couldn't find its way back and taking it somewhere really far away.
You just kept showing up? Yeah. Like it wasn't kind of joke on her. The only thing that anybody said about it was that it tended to talk in a woman's voice.
So I don't know if just to talk in a woman's voice, read it out or if it did other things. But it was interesting the idea of blindfolding it so it wouldn't know how to get back to the point of origin. And then other people pick it up and take it home and new friends. Yeah, there's a doll called Harold.
It was purchased at a flea market. And the owner's son died after getting it all. The new owner purchased it. The cat died.
His girlfriend left him. He got chronic migraines. Sounds like a country song. Right.
He reported hearing laughing and crying of children in his basement. And he says that all seemed to have a pulse. And he didn't have each other. The last one.
There's another doll called Leta. It's an ancient, Eastern European marionette. Over 200 years old. Over 200 years old.
It was found in New South Wales, Australia. And when this doll is in the area, objects move, things fall off shelves. They say people just kind of freak out being around it. Not just, oh, that's creepy doll, but more.
Like pure evil feeling. Like, get that away from me. Has human hair. And it's been known to readjust its position.
Just a couple more. There's Pupa. Pupa. Remember that was pronounced?
I don't. It's spelled P-U-P-P-A. It's from the 1920s. It belonged to a five-year-old.
It's in a display case. And people can hear tapping on the glasses. On the glasses. It's tapping on the glass of the display case.
It writes messages. They actually took video of it. They brought in some apparently investigators. They have video.
But when they go back to look at the video, they just see like fog and the word no in the video. But they did have video of her moving. And then it got all foggy with the word no. I don't know if it was a junk door or if we did an entire episode.
