Haunted Sioux Falls Episode 8 Shafer Round Barn
from The Haunted Sioux Falls · host John and Heidi Show
Welcome to Haunted Sioux Falls, I’m your host, John Small. On this episode, we head to a very peculiar barn for a tale or two! On the east edge of Sioux Falls stands an unusual landmark—the Shafer Round Barn. As a hollow clay tile round barn, it served as a specialized livestock shelter, a common agricultural design for the area that provided advantages like efficient feeding from a central silo and improved wind resistance. The barn remains a testament to the region's agricultural history and is a popular spot for photography. Built in 1919, its circular design is striking, but locals say it may hold more than farm animals. Over the years, visitors have reported strange activity inside. Tools moved from one place to another. Unexplained knocks echoing through the rafters. Some even claim to have seen shadowy figures darting between the stalls. Round barns were said to bring good luck, but some believe the shape was also thought to confuse evil spirits—trapping them in endless circles. Did the Shafer Barn succeed? Or did it capture something darker inside its walls? Step inside after dark, and you may hear more than the rustle of hay. Have you experienced something strange or spooky in the Sioux Falls area? Please reach out. I’d love to hear your story. Connect with us at the bottom of the page at HauntedSiouxFalls.com Until next time… stay curious, stay brave, and beware of the whispers in the dark.
